The freshest, tastiest and most Kanazawa-like sushi!

Five kinds of Kaga
Five kinds of Kaga" 2,200 yen

This conveyor-belt sushi restaurant is located in the rotary at the Kanazawa Port exit of JR Kanazawa Station. The freshness of the fish is outstanding because it is purchased directly from Kanazawa Port and Nanao Port, etc., where it is landed that morning. Although it is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant, sushi is not rotated in a lane, and freshly made sushi is served after the order is placed. The popular "Kaga Five Kinds" offers one piece each of "chutoro" (medium fatty tuna), "nodoguro" (fresh sea bream), "ikura gunkan" (salmon roe), " beni zuwai gani" (red snow crab), and "gai" (clams). (*Subject to change according to availability.) You will be surprised by the large size of each piece. The restaurant's four original "Himezushi" served with a spoon are easy for children to eat.

The restaurant offers a variety of items to enhance your travel experience, such as 15 different colorful plates inspired by Kanazawa and a Kutani porcelain soy sauce jug. Sushi typical of Kanazawa, which accounts for 98% of Japan's gold leaf production, is also available. The "Nodoguro Kinpaku Sushi," two pieces of nodoguro covered with glittering gold leaf, is a creative sushi dish that you must try. The sweetness and flavor are brought out with salted malted rice, so it is served boldly with the gold leaf without soy sauce. In addition to sushi, the restaurant also offers a variety of a la carte dishes such as deep-fried gas shrimp and Kanazawa oden. Why not try them with a glass of Hokuriku sake?

The restaurant offers a wide variety of seasonal seafood from Kanazawa, Nanao, Ushitsu, Wajima, and other Noto fishing grounds. A must-try is the "Sanponzori" (three-piece dish), which is an assortment of the day's recommended items, one at a time. You can compare three kinds of fatty sea bream: raw, marinated, and salted and seared. The "Hokuriku Ebi Zukushi" plate, featuring fresh sweet shrimp, white shrimp from Toyama Bay, and rich sweet gas shrimp, is also a must-try.

 Kanazawa Sashimi
Kanazawa Sashimi" 1,210 yen, which includes nodoguro, gas shrimp, and red snow crab (items and prices are subject to change depending on availability)

This is a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant of the long-established "Kanazawa Tamazushi" group, which has been in business for more than 70 years. Seasonal fresh fish from all over Japan, including seafood from Toyama Bay, which is called a natural fish tank, arrives twice a day. The fish is prepared and served each time. We recommend the "Kanazawa-zari" which is topped with three kinds of fish representing Hokuriku: nodoguro (bluefin tuna), gas shrimp, and red snow crab. The rich sweetness of the white shrimp is wrapped in kombu (kelp) instead of nori (seaweed). The kelp gives the shrimp a salty taste, and the texture of the plump meat, which can only be obtained by hand-pulling, is irresistible.

A surprisingly popular item is the "yaki-anago" (grilled conger eel), which is made by cooking conger eel landed at Kanazawa Port and other ports in a homemade sauce and grilling it to a savory flavor. It is fluffy, soft, and addictively delicious. The rice is made from 100% Koshihikari rice produced in Ishikawa Prefecture, and soy sauce from Tsurugi Town, Ishikawa, is used for the soy sauce. The miso soup, which is free on weekdays, also has a comforting taste. The miso soup is self-service and refills are free. The restaurant is conveniently located in the "Hyakubangai" station building directly connected to Kanazawa Station, making it easy to stop by immediately after arriving in Kanazawa or before leaving.

 Kanazawa Five Kinds of Sashimi

Opened in 1969, this restaurant was a pioneer of conveyor-belt sushi in Kanazawa. It was popular as a casual place to enjoy sushi when there were only a few restaurants in the Omemachi Market. Even today, nearly half of the customers are local regulars. The manager visits the Kanazawa Central Market every morning to purchase seasonal seafood from all over Japan. Please be sure to check out the"Today'sRecommendation," whichchanges daily.

If you want to enjoy the local fish of Hokuriku, try the "Kanazawa Gokusatsuzari," which includes local sweet shrimp, nodoguro, yellowtail, live bai clam, and hand-pulled white shrimp. All items are large and satisfying, and the rich local gas shrimp is also a must-see during the months of July and August, when fishing is not permitted. A popular at-home restaurant in the lively Omimachi Market

 Nodoguro (throat blackfish) comparison
Nodoguro (throat blackfish) comparison" 1,969 yen. Ara-jiru" 286 yen, "Gas shrimps" 869 yen, "Noto fugu" 495 yen

We make all sushi to order because we want our customers to enjoy the freshest ingredients at their best. But we serve it at the price of conveyor-belt sushi. The at-home atmosphere of the restaurant is also appealing. In addition to the Kanazawa Central Market, the restaurant purchases fish from connoisseurs in the neighboring Omimachi Market, such as Yamaka Suisan and Oguchi Suisan. The fish and seafood caught in the morning are prepared by the chef in a fast-paced manner. A popular set menu item is the "Nodoguro Eating Comparison," which consists of seven pieces of raw and seared nodoguro, tuna chubu, bai clam, etc. on a sushi plate. The sweetness of the fat in the nodoguro is exceptional.

Puffer fish from Ishikawa Prefecture, which has the largest catch of wild caught puffer fish in Japan, is also a delicacy. Nigirizushi of fresh fugu is lightly seared and served with ponzu jelly and grated momiji mushrooms, so it can be enjoyed as it is without hesitation. The gas shrimp has a superb taste with its sweet and plump flesh. Swordfish, called "Sawara" in Kanazawa, is another popular dish with a light fatty taste. In addition to nigirizushi, the restaurant offers a wide variety of hearty bowls of seafood, such as the "Seasonal Omakase-don" and the "Zekusu-don" bowl containing nodoguro (a type of rice bowl filled with fresh seafood). The restaurant opens at 8:00 a.m., so it is best to visit for breakfast.

 B Lunch
B Lunch" with 10 pieces including "chutoro", "sea bream", "akagai", "kani-miso", etc.: 1,430 yen

Founded as a diner about 30 years ago, it was converted to a conveyor-belt sushi restaurant in 1999. Located right in front of the Kanazawa Central Market, the restaurant believes in purchasing fresh fish from all over Japan, especially from Kanazawa Port, and serving it at a reasonable price. The restaurant is crowded with local businessmen on weekdays and with families at night, most of whom order from the set menu. There are seven types of lunch sets: "A Lunch" is 990 yen for 10 pieces of nigiri, and "Manpuku Lunch" is 1,188 yen for 12 pieces. Single dishes are also reasonably priced, ranging from 165 to 990 yen per plate.

The freshness of the fish is second to none. Free ara-jiru soup is also delicious!

 Self-service
Self-service "Ara-jiru" soup. The soup stock and ingredients, such as shrimp and white fish, change daily.

Recommended items include amaebi (sweet shrimp), bai clam, bonito, and toro saba (mackerel) caught at the Port of Kanazawa. In winter, milt and kobako crab, which is richly flavored with both the inner roe (roe inside the shell) and outer roe (roe in the abdomen), are also available. The crab is not rotated, so you can order and enjoy a freshly made nigiri. The free "Ara-jiru" is also popular here. The seafood broth is so tasty that many people order another bowl. In addition to the counter, there are box seats and tables where you can take off your shoes, making families and groups feel at home.

 Hokuriku Selected Assortment
Hokuriku Selected Assortment" 1,080 yen, "Live Shimeji Horse Mackerel" 378 yen (back right), "Home-boiled Conger eel" 313 yen (back left)

A famous restaurant where the parking lot begins to fill up even before the restaurant opens on weekdays. The items carefully prepared from the freshest fish are superb. They include yanagibatame (mebaru), kisses, and red flounder caught at Kanazawa Port, as well as sea bream and soibatame (black rockfish) that are offshore-tightened on the boats in Himi. The "Hokuriku Selected Assortment" is popular among tourists. It features six different kinds of fish, including wild sea bream, sweet Noto squid, and white shrimp. Among them, the nigiri of heshiko (pickled mackerel) topped with gold leaf is a rare item not found anywhere else. The deep, matured flavor goes well with rice made from Koshihikari rice produced in Okunoto.

There are two tanks of fish tanks in the kitchen, where sea bream, flatfish, horse mackerel, and other fish swim. The fish are quickly prepared by the chefs and are a must-try item. We also recommend the boiled conger eel, which is cooked in the restaurant and served with a homemade sauce that goes well with the rice. The thin rolls made with pickled Nakajima-na, a traditional Noto vegetable, have a bittersweet flavor that is addictive. The spacious restaurant has a counter, tables, and a small tatami room, and orders are placed using a touch panel. The tables and small tatami room have a high-speed lane where sushi is delivered by bullet train, which is fun for children as well.
