Ito City is full of attractions, including scenic spots such as the Ito Hakkei, hot hot spring with abundant hot water, and fresh seafood. A major summer event is the Ito Onsen hot spring Fireworks Festival, which is held from late July to the end of August. We will introduce the fireworks festival that beautifully colors the night sky of Ito, including fireworks that are launched simultaneously from the sea, fireworks that are paired with music, and rare hand-held fireworks.

Also known as the "Ito Summer Theater," the Ito hot spring fireworks festival is a seasonal feature of summer in Ito. The first of these is the Ito hot spring "Yume Hanabi." For a total of nine days, large fireworks will light up the night sky of Ito.
Over the course of just 20 to 30 minutes, large star mines and rapid-fire fireworks are set off one after the other at close range, creating a spectacular sight.
The main venue is Ito Orange Beach, but you can see the fireworks all around Ito Coast, so if you want to enjoy the fireworks in a more relaxed atmosphere, we recommend the nearby Nagisa Park. Sitting comfortably on the grass and watching the spectacular fireworks explode right in front of you is a truly dreamy experience.

2Usami Summer Festival Fireworks Display on the Sea 8/3 (Sun) 20:00-20:20

This summer festival is held in the Usami area, about 25 minutes from Atami on the JR Ito Line. One of the highlights is the sea fireworks display. Approximately 1,000 fireworks are launched into the night sky, reflected on the pitch-black sea, creating a very romantic scene. The entire Usami coast, which stretches for a total length of 1 km, is a great viewing spot. This fireworks display is a little-known spot outside of the local area, so you can enjoy the fireworks at your leisure without too many crowds.
On the day, the street in front of Usami Station will be turned into a pedestrian precinct. Local shops and food stalls will be lined up, and various events such as dancing and singing will be held, attracting a lot of excitement from locals.

379th Anjinsai Sea Fireworks Festival 8/10 (Sun) 20:00-21:00

William Adams (Miura Anjin), who built Japan's first Western-style sailing ship in Ito City during the Edo period. The Anjin Festival, Izu's largest event, is held to commemorate his achievements. Every year, in addition to fireworks displays on each day, there are various events such as floating lanterns and drum battles, making the festival a lively event.
The Anjin Festival Sea Fireworks Display is the finale of the festival. Approximately 10,000 fireworks, including fast-firing star mines and music special star mines, are launched one after another from five locations on the sea in an hour, creating a spectacular sight. The 500m-long "Aerial Niagara" instantly paints the night sky and the sea surface silver, creating an impressive sight. The special viewing seats, which are all reserved, are also popular.

4Yanmono Village Fireworks Festival August 14th (Thu) 20:00-20:30

This fireworks festival is held at Yahatano Port, about a 15-minute walk from Izukyu Izukogen Station. "Yanmo" refers to the wild bayberry that grows all over Ito and Izukogen. Sweets such as cookies and pound cakes made with the red berries harvested in early summer are also local specialties.
The fireworks last for about 30 minutes. Music and star mines compete dynamically, and about 2,000 fireworks are launched in rapid succession, painting the sky and sea with a gorgeous glow. Since the launch site and the viewing seats are close to each other, it feels like the fireworks are going off overhead. We also recommend laying down on a sheet on the beach and watching the fireworks.

5Ito hot spring Hashimatsuri Fireworks Festival 8/22 (Fri) 20:30-21:00

The "Hashimatsuri" (Chopstick Festival) began as a memorial service for chopsticks used over the year at hotels in Ito hot spring. The fireworks display marks the finale of various events, including the lighting ceremony for the chopsticks memorial tower.
The highlight of the event is the unusual "hand-held fireworks." These are heroic fireworks that are ignited and blown up while being held by a person who is about one meter long and filled with gunpowder. The sight of about 50 hand-held fireworks going up in front of the audience to the sound of Japanese drums is so majestic that it will leave you speechless. The diagonal star mines that are launched on the beach and reflect on the water's surface are also very picturesque.
