Nikko and Kinugawa have many fun spots, including hot spring, tourist attractions, and theme parks. Because it is a tourist spot surrounded by nature, the roads may not be paved and there may not be any space for changing diapers. Be sure to gather the necessary information about your destination in advance.
We will introduce you to some spots where you can enjoy yourself safely even with children.

Edo Wonderland (Nikko Edomura) - a place where children Experience fun

The well-known leisure spot "Edo Wonderland (Nikko Edomura)".
There are no rides like in an amusement park, but there are plenty of spots where you can be active. All Staff/staff member are dressed in kimonos and Edo-period clothing, and speak Edokko dialect. It really makes you feel like you've traveled back to the Edo period.

In the "Time and Space" area, located right at the entrance, there are many "Edo people" costumes available, and you can choose the character costume you want to become using a tablet. Both adults and children can transform into Edo people here.
There are plenty of costumes for children, and boys can change into ninjas, samurai, feudal lords, Shinsengumi, etc. and feel like they've transformed. Girls can also enjoy the experience of being in the world of period dramas, dressed as princesses, samurai girls, town girls, etc., and it's Experience that anyone would want to try.

Most of the roads within Property are paved, making them easy to navigate with a stroller. Even when there are bridges, there are detours so you can safely traverse the entire Property with a stroller.

"Daruma painting Experience" that even preschoolers can enjoy

There are many spots here where you can play with your children.
Even adults will find themselves engrossed in activities such as the "Shuriken Dojo" where you can throw shuriken and feel like a ninja, and the "Yaba" where you can become an expert archer. Even preschoolers can enjoy "Daruma painting." Parents and children can work together, thinking about the colors and expressions.

The maze, which has many traps, is a great challenge for parents and children to try out together. On weekends and during the summer holidays, the museum offers Edo occupation Experience (for children aged 5 to 12), limited to 20 people per day. Parents who want to try out the popular occupations (ninja, police officer, swordsman) often make reservations as soon as the museum opens.

There is a pond in the center of Property where many carp swim. When you feed them food, which is sold for 100 yen, they gather around and gobble it down with their mouths wide open, which is very popular with children.
During the summer holidays, although not on a regular schedule, there are also Experience such as indigo dyeing and tsumami zaiku, and many people visit with their children to carry out their summer holiday research project.

Breastfeeding space also available

For those with infants, there is a nursing room and a bed for changing diapers. There is a rest area within Property, so you can take a break anytime. Tables are equipped with table guards for the safety of children.
*Please be aware that the road in front of the nursing room is gravel.

There is also a large Parking, so we recommend Direction by car or taking the Tobu bus from hot spring.

Tobu World Square is a famous spot near hot spring Onsen where famous buildings and world heritage sites are gathered in one place. You can take a little trip around the world with your children.

The photo shows the Sphinx in the Egyptian Zone. Children can get up close and personal with the statue, so they are sure to make many discoveries.
The entire Property is barrier-free, so strollers are welcome. Strollers can also be rented for free, which is convenient.

Children are excited to see the trains below them

This photo is of a Tobu Railway station in the Japan Zone. The train you can see in the background is moving. Children are fascinated by the realistic diorama and the actual trains running at the same time. The Tobu World Square Station opened in 2017, and this diorama is becoming even more popular.

A well-equipped kids' space

There is a building called "Kids Space Yukari" inside Property. In addition to a ball pool and slide, there are toilets for kids, a "milk kitchen" with a microwave and electric pot for making milk, and a nursing room, so even those with small children can feel safe.

Nikko Sports Park is about a 25-minute walk or 6-minute drive from Nikko Station.
There is also a free Parking, so it is convenient to come by car. There are baseball fields, tennis courts, and a golf course, but the "Chibikko Hiroba" is a popular spot for families to enjoy.

Plenty of play equipment to keep you entertained

"Chibikko Hiroba" is about a 5-minute walk from Parking.
There is a large long roller slide, net climbing, dragon egg-shaped tunnels, clay pipe tunnels, and more, making this a great place for children to run around and have fun. There are public toilets nearby, but please note that there is no space for changing diapers.

Picnic on a sunny day

There is a covered rest area on the way to Chibikko Square, walking along the path lined with pine trees.
On a nice day, it's a pleasant place to have lunch or take a break.
It's a free spot, so it's a great place to bring children.
There is an administration office right next to Parking, and there is also a cafe where you can take a break.

The Kinugawa Line Boat Cruise can be enjoyed by everyone from small children to adults. The boarding point is about a 5-minute walk from hot spring Station. The boat cruise down the Kinugawa River while admiring the large rocks and rocks with interesting shapes is a popular spot where you can feel the power of the river up close.

You can feel the power of nature while enjoying the pleasant splashes of the river water.
The boat is also equipped with vinyl sheets to protect against water, and it's fun and creates a sense of unity for all passengers to put the sheets on in unison when the boatman calls out a command.

Taking pictures from the middle of the river

Please note that due to weather or strong winds, the water level of the river may rise or fall, making it impossible to board the boat, so please check in advance.
