This lush zoo exhibits animals in an environment close to their natural habitat, with the theme of "lively people and animals." The park is made up of a temperate forest, a tropical forest, an African/Australian zone, a jungle museum, and a children's zoo, and is home to around 1,400 animals from around 100 different species.

In the Africa/Australia Zone, which is modeled after the savannah, reticulated giraffes and Grant's zebras are on display together. The attraction is that you can enjoy viewing them from various angles, such as at the observation deck and the rest house "Pole Pole," and you'll likely lose track of time as you watch the animals grazing on the grass and wandering around leisurely.

In addition, we also hold unique events every month, such as an "Extension and Walk" tour of the zoo with the zoo director, and behind-the-scenes explorations of the zoo led by a zookeeper.
The zoo also has an Animal Science Museum where you can have fun learning about animals through Experience and games, as well as Restaurant with a kids' menu that includes "Bear Lunch," making it the perfect place to have fun all day.

Explore the mysterious world of limestone caves!

On the right you can see the largest stalactite in the cave, called "Amanokoseki," which is about 11 meters tall.

It is a huge limestone cavern that is approximately 4 km long and is said to have taken 175 million years to form, and is designated as a national historic site and natural monument.

There are three walking courses available, but for first-time visitors, we recommend the sightseeing course, which takes about 1km and takes about 40 minutes. You can feel the great power of time as you visit the cave's largest waterfall, Memorial Falls, and the remains of a settlement said to have been used during the Yayoi period. There is no age limit for entering the cave, but some areas are dimly lit and difficult to walk in, so it is best to discuss the challenge with your children beforehand.

There is also a full-scale exploration course that will tickle your sense of adventure.

Various parts of the cave are lit up, allowing you to appreciate the beauty of each and every stalactite.

If you want to Experience cave exploration in earnest, we recommend the Adventure Course (for elementary school students and above), where you navigate through pitch black caves using only the light of a headlamp, or the Nishimoto Cave Course (for 5th grade and above, reservations must be made by the day before), where you can feel the flow of underground water as you navigate. It is sure to be a unique and valuable Experience that will stimulate children's curiosity and sense of adventure. Why not try diving into a mysterious world created by nature?

In the shopping street leading to Ryugado Cave, there are souvenir shops selling handmade soba noodles, processed bonito products, sweet potato chips, and more. It's the perfect place to create memories of your family trip after your adventure.

Since 1937 (Showa 12), an interesting experiment has been conducted at Ryugado Cave to see whether a jar placed in the cave would become covered in stalactites over time. As of 2024, the bottom of the jar is just starting to bond with the stalactites. This is an experiment worth paying close attention to.
