What are the best places to visit on Okinawa Island?: This may be a must-see when traveling to Okinawa, but I think the view from Manza Cape, the ocean seen from the cliffs, is truly magnificent, especially on a clear midsummer day.

Please tell us about some hidden spots that you know because you live there.: I love beautiful beaches, and this time I would like to recommend one of the beautiful beaches on the main island of Okinawa, Akahaka Beach. When you think of a trip to Okinawa, Shuri Castle and the Churaumi Aquarium come to mind, but if you drive a little past the aquarium, you will find this hidden beach. It is of course very beautiful, but despite that, there are hardly any visitors, so it is wonderful that you can have it all to yourself.

What is your most memorable trip?: St. Martin is an island in the Caribbean Sea in Central America. There is a beach right in front of the airport runway, and the power of planes landing just above the beach was amazing. My wife and I had seen it on TV and had talked about wanting to go there someday! When we saw a jumbo jet flying overhead, we both cried.

What do you do on your days off?: I've loved vehicles since I was a child. Now that I've moved to Okinawa, I get on planes to eat delicious food, attend events, and go to Tokyo several times a month.

Is there anything you always bring with you on your travels?: It may seem surprising, but it's actually a nail clipper. It's a lovely favorite item made by a craftsman. It comes from my experience traveling abroad and carrying heavy suitcases that can chip or crack my nails.
