数えきれないほどの美しいビーチを持つインドネシアに生まれた私は、砂の上に立つたびに故郷に帰って来たような気持ちになります。この神の創作物を見るだけで、全ての悩みや苦しみを忘れリラックスすることができるのです。
今回が初めての日本旅行ではありませんでしたが、日本のビーチに行ったのはこれが初めてでした。日本の中でも特別な島である西表島と竹富島のビーチを訪れたことは、私にとってとりわけ最高の出来事でした。
その日、飛行機の乗り継ぎで疲れ切っていた私を、西表島で宿泊したホテルのすぐそばにあるトゥドゥマリ浜の波の音が出迎えてくれました。それだけで疲れは吹っ飛び、生き返ったような気分になったのです。
また、そこに住む人々の素晴らしさも重要な点でした。石垣島の人々は笑顔を絶やさない素敵な方達でした。新石垣空港に到着した最初から、多くの方に助けられてきました。トゥドゥマリ海岸に立った私は、「ただいま」（I’m home）と言いました。

Born in Indonesia with uncountable beautiful beaches make me feeling home everytime I stand above the sand. I can forget all my ease and release my pain just seing this God’s creation.
Actually this wasn’t my first visit to Japan but my first time went to beach in Japan. And the best thing was I visit beach in special islands in Japan, Iriomote and Taketomi Island.
After one exhausted day move from one to another airplane, I arrived in Iriomote Island and welcomed by wave’s sound from Tudumari beach right beside the hotel. My tiredness vanished and refreshed once again.
Beside that the most important thing was the people. Ishigaki’s people was nice and full of smile. I got so much help from the first in New Ishigaki Airport. Tadaima (I’m home), was the word I said while I stood in Tudumari beach.

宇宙に行って星を取ってきたいと思ったことはありますか？私は昔、自分の部屋には夜空から取って来た星がぶら下がっていると、よく想像したものでした。それは昔の突飛な夢ですが、今の私は本当に星を取ることが出来るのです。1つではなく欲しいだけ取れるのです。ロケットや宇宙船に乗る必要は無く、西表島の星の砂海岸に行くだけです。そこには砂浜一面に星の形をした砂があるのです。それは小さな小さな星ですが、奇跡は確かに存在します。

Ever think about going outspace and take a star? I used to imagine there’s hanging star in my room that I take from the night sky. It was just a wild dream before but now I can take the star, not only one but as much as I want. And I don’t have go to outspace with rocket or apollo, I just have to go to Hoshinosuna Beach in Iriomote Island because there’s sand with star shape along that beach. Eventhough it’s little tiny star but miracle does exist.

私は初めてのことに挑戦することが基本的に好きです。ですから午後のアクティビティとしてカヤックを選びました。参加者は私を含めた5人で、出発前にインストラクターがパドルの掴み方やカヤックの漕ぎ方といった、カヤックの基礎を教えてくれました。私はほりのうちてつおさんという名のインストラクターと一緒にカヤックに乗ったのですが、偶然にも彼はサーフィンをしにバリ島をよく訪れる為、インドネシアのことを良く知っていました。私は結構上手にカヤックを漕げたと思います。またの機会があればぜひまた挑戦したいです。

Basically I like something new and challenging, that’s why I choose Kayak as my afternoon activity. The participants include me were 5 persons and right before depart to Kayak boat place, the instructor gave us know how about Kayak, like how to grap the paddle and direct the Kayak boat. I ride Kayak boat tandem with the instructor named Horinouchi Tatsuro and unexpectedly he knew about Indonesia because he often go to Bali to surf. I think I’m quite good at Kayak so if I have another chance I will definitely do it again.

私は竹富島でのアクティビティの1つとして、伝統織物の体験に挑戦しました。星野リゾートのスタッフと一緒に竹富民芸館を訪れ、そこで私はよしざわ先生に紹介されました。竹富島で生まれ育った先生は数十年もの間、織物の布を作り続けてきたそうです。先生は、私が作った5ｘ4の正方形は竹富島の伝統的パターンだと教えてくれました。その昔、女性が好意を持つ男性にラブレターがわりにその布をあげる習慣があったそうです。5ｘ4の正方形には、男性が女性をより頻繁に訪れる意味があったそうです。よしざわ先生は、私は飲み込みが早く、作品も上手に仕上がったと言ってくれました。私は織物体験を心から楽しみました。おみやげとして家に持ち帰れたことも嬉しかったです。いつの日か、私もこの布を愛する人に渡したいと思います。

I tried traditional weaving as my activity in Taketomi Island. I went to Taketomi Folk Craft Museum with Hoshinoya Resort staff and introduced to Yoshizawa Sensei. She born in Taketomi Island and make woven cloth for decades. She told me that the one I made was Taketomi traditional pattern, 5 and 4 squares. In the past the girl gave it to the boy she liked and it’s like a love letter because 5 and 4 squares means the boy will come more to the girl. Yoshizawa Sensei said I learnt fast and the result was good. So happy to learn weavering and one another best thing was I can bring it back as souvenir. Maybe someday I can give it to someone I love.
