少し変わりましたが、それほど大きくは変わっていません。日本を訪れたのは今回で3度目でした。過去には大阪と東京を訪れていました。両都市とも近代的なビルで溢れており、街中で伝統的な建物を見かけることはほとんどありませんでした。

The images have little change, not so much. It was the third times to visit Japan and I have been visit Osaka and Tokyo. Both of those cities are full of modern buildings and only few of traditional architectures inside the cities.

今回の旅では東京から松本に移動中、新幹線が田園地方を通過し、農場や小さな日本民家を見かけました。私は日本のこれまでとは違った面を見た気がしました。それに、軽井沢で美しい川や池も見ました。私はこれまでとは全く正反対の日本のイメージを捉えることができました。

When I traveled from Tokyo to Matsumoto, shinkansen pass through the countryside and I saw the farms and small Japanese houses. I was wonder to saw the other side of Japan. And also, I saw the beautiful river and pond in Karuizawa. It is clear and i could see inverted image clearly.

日本人はとても親切で礼儀正しいということについては、私のイメージは変わっていません。私が道に迷って途方に暮れていたとき、日本人はあたたかく微笑みながら手助けしてくれようとしました。私は、日本人のおもてなしと呼ばれるホスピタリティーについての動画を見たことがあります。この旅を通して、日本のおもてなしを実感しました。日本人はどんなときでも笑顔を絶やしません。

Japanese is very kind and polite. It is no change in my mind. When I felt helpless during finding the way, Japanese will try to help me with warm smile. I have seen video regarding Japanese‘s hospitality called “Omotenashi”. After the trip, I felt Japanese’s Omotenashi, they will keep their smile whenever what time.

以前、大阪や京都で日本の城を訪れたことがあります。大阪城は城の外観は保持していますが、城の中は、日本や城の歴史についての展示室になっていました。

I have visited Japanese castle in Osaka and Kyoto before. Osaka Castle (Osaka-jo) is keeping the exterior of castle. But the interior was changed showrooms to tell history of castle and Japan.

松本城の中にも展示はありましたが、外観だけでなく、内部の構造やデザインも保持していました。これには驚かされました。私は松本市全体を見晴らすために、木の階段で最上階まで上りました。また、城が薄暗い中、靴下だけで角度70度の木の階段を下るときはとても怖かったです。

Matsumoto Castle (Matsumoto-jo) is not only keeping the exterior, also keep the interior’s structure and design, also with exhibit. It was so surprised. In order to see the full view of Matsumoto, I walked to the top of castle by wood stair. I was so scared when I went down through wood stair which more than 70 angle with only wear socks and the castle was quite dark.

初日は、界 松本  に宿泊させていただきました。部屋に入ったその瞬間、私は自分の目が信じられませんでした。その部屋は伝統的な家具を使った和室で、貸し切りのお風呂まで付いていました。和室はテレビでは見たことがありましたが、実際に泊まったことはありませんでした。畳の上に1時間も座って、浅間温泉地区の夜景に見入りました。また、貸し切りのお風呂は素晴らしかったです。恥ずかしがることもなく、リラックスしてお風呂を満喫しました。

I stayed in Kai Matsumoto in the first night. When I entered the room, I could not believe what I saw at that moment. The room was designed in Japan-style through the usage of traditional furniture with private Japanese bath (Ofuro). I have only seen the Japan-style room in the TV program, not stay in before. I spent an hour to sit on tatami (type of mat used in Japan).and viewed the night view in Asama Onsen area. Private bath in room was wonderful. I will not felt embarrassing and enjoying the bath in relax mood.

この旅では、星野リゾートのスタッフの方々をはじめ、私は各地で色々な日本人に出会いました。星野リゾートのサービスは素晴らしかったです。特に、私を部屋に案内してくれた女性は、星のや 軽井沢 の設備について丁寧に紹介してくれました。私は日本語がほとんど話せないため、その方はゆっくりと簡単な日本語で説明してくれました。彼女のお陰でこの宿泊は忘れられないものとなり、私は本当に楽しませていただきました。

During this trip, I met different local Japanese people include Hoshino resort’s staff. They provided excellent service, especially a lady who bought me to the room and introduced the facilities in the Hoshinoya Karuizawa in detail. As I just can speck little Japanese, she spoke slowly and used simple Japanese to explain. She gave me a memorable stay and I really enjoyed it.

他に旅の間出会った日本人でよく覚えているのは、長野駅で会った素敵なおばあさんです。私は軽井沢への新幹線を待っており、木でできた椅子におばあさんの隣に座りました。木の椅子にはひらがなで何かが彫られていました。おばあさんは、その木の名前が書いてあるのよと私に教えてくれました。私は今回の旅についておばあさんと話し、私が電車を待っている間、おばあさんは私を楽しませてくれました。

Another local Japanese people was deep in my mind was lovely grandma who I met in Nagona train station. I was waiting the shinkansen to Karuizawa and sat on wood chair next to her. I saw there were some Hiragana (kind of Japanese) was engraved on the wood chair. She told me that this is name of wood. And, we talked about my trip. She made me not feel boring during waiting the train.
