日本に行く前に、先生から日本人は公の場では他の人と話しをすることも電話をすることもないと聞いていました。日本人が静かなのは、それが社会の常識であり基本的マナーであると考えているからだ。子供がうるさければ、マナーがなっていないと注意を受ける。赤ちゃんが公衆の場で泣けば、母親は恥ずかしい思いをする、と。しかし、今回の旅行で、この考えを改めました。まず、日本人はJRの電車の中でも友達と話をしますし、おしゃべりや大声で笑う (少年少女の生徒のような) 子供もいるし誰も注意されていませんでした。三番目に、バスで赤ちゃんが泣いていましたが、不快な様子を示す人もいませんし、母親も気まずい様子ではありませんでした。

Before I came to Japan,I learned from my teacher that Japanese don’t speak to each other and make phone calls in public .Japanese keep silence cause they think it’s a common sense and basic manner in society.If child make noise,they will be warned to watch their manner.If baby cried in a public place,his mother will be embarrassed.But in this trip,I changed my idea.First,Japanese talks to friends in JR.Second,some children(such as school boys and girls)talk and laugh loud and no one was warned.Third,I saw a baby cried in a bus but no one on showed unfriendly expression and the mom was not embarrassed.

今回の旅行の初日に水戸駅に到着した時、日光駅に来る電車は界 日光行きの最終のバスに間に合わないかもしれないと教えてもらいました。バスに間に合わないとタクシーに乗らなければならず、お金がとてもかかります。日光駅に到着した時、タクシーの運転手に安くしてもらえないかとお願いしました。運転手は最初拒否しましたが、しつこくお願いすると、結局運転手は1000円安くしてくれることになり、移動中もたくさんお話をしましました。

When I arrived in Mito station in my first day of the trip,I was told that the coming train to Nikko station will miss the final bus going to KAI NIKKO.I knew that late for the bus means I must take a taxi,and the price is very high.When I reached Nikko station,I asked a driver of a taxi if he can give me a discount.The driver didn’t agree at first,but I still persisted.At last,the driver agreed to give me a discount of 1000 Yen and we talked much during driving.

星野リゾートのおかげで、日本食の素晴らしさを堪能しました。食事はとても繊細で可愛く、料理が盛られる器も上品でした。そして最も「まさにこれぞ日本」と感じたことは、メインディッシュをのぞいて、各料理の量がとても少なく一口以下なところです。しかし、1つの料理の量が少ないだけで、料理の数は多すぎるほどあり、満腹以上になりました。

Thanks to Hoshino Resorts,I fully experienced the beauty of Japanese food.The food is so delicate and cute,and the container that hold foods are exquisite.And,the most point that I feel”Wow,this is so Japan”is that except the main dish,volume of each dishes are so little and even less than one bite.But,I also noticed that though the volume of one dish is little,the amount of dishes is too much and exceeded the bound that my stomach could stand.

界 日光での2日目の夜、ショーを見に行くと、とてもかわいい女性に歓迎され、履き心地の良い日光下駄 (日本の履物) を紹介するパンフレットをもらいました。その女性は私に一組の日光下駄を貸してくれ、履くとしっかりと状態を確かめてくれました。ステージ上には、一人の男性が立っていました。そしてその女性と男性がショーを披露してくれました。

On my second night in KAI NIKKO,
I went to see a show,there came a very cute lady greeted me and gave me a leaflet on which writes the introduction of the NIKKO GETA(Japanese footwear) which wears comfortably. She also lent me a pair of Nikko Geta to wear and have a closed watch. On the stage,a gentleman stood there.The lady and the gentleman were going to give us a show.

そのショーでは、まず日光下駄がどのように考案されたか、誰が発明したかそして日光下駄の特長について説明しました。それに続いて、驚いたことに、日光下駄を履いたまま踊りだしました。踊りは素晴らしく、日光下駄が床を打つ音は大きく澄んでいました。彼らは界 日光のスタッフで、専門家から踊りを習ったと教えてくれました。本当に素晴らしいショーでした。

In the show, they firstly explained how Nikko Geta was invented,who invented it and what’s the feature of Nikko Geta.Then,to my surprise,they danced wearing Nikko Geta!It was amazing and the sound when Nikko Geta collided floor was loud and clear.They told us they are staff of KAI NIKKO and they learned the dance from a specialist.How wonderful the show was!
