この度を通して、日本に対するイメージは変わりましたか？
日本人は内気ではありません Japanese people are not that shy
ここを訪れる前は、日本人はとても内気な性格だと(固定概念として)思っていましたが、数日間滞在した後、前に思っていたほど内気な方々ではないことに気付きました。
Before I came here, I thought that Japanese are pretty shy (as the stereotype) but after few days staying here, I found that people are not as shy as what I assumed before.
スタッフの方々は本当に熱心で、人助けを恐れず、そして実に懸命に英語を使い、私達との会話に努めてくれました。とても素敵だと思いました！
The staffs here are really enthusiastic, and they are not afraid of helping people and they even tried hard to use English to communicate with us. That was really nice!
近頃は、ますますグローバル化してきていますので、他言語を話せるスタッフの方々がいらっしゃるのは、本当に私達のような海外の旅行者にとっていいことだと思います。
I think that it becomes more and more globalized nowadays, and the staffs here are capable to speak other languages is really good for foreign tourists like us.
ここで出会った方々は、本当に心が広く、働き者で、この様な非常に素晴らしい職員がいることに驚きました！
People I met here are really open-minded and hardworking and it’s amazing that you have these kind of extraordinary crew!
記憶に残った体験を教えてください。
出会ったのは同じく台湾からいらした方でした！ We met someone who is also from Taiwan!
6月25日にランチをとるために、イタリアンレストラン「Bravo」に行きました。そこで働いている女の子が出て来て、出迎えてくれました。最初、アクセントが台湾人ぽく聞こえなかったので、彼女は日本人だと思っていました。ところが、雑談を始めてから、彼女も私も台湾出身だということが分かりました。これにはお互い驚きました。10日ほど前に、トマムに来たばかりの新人だったそうです。
We went to a Italian restaurant “Bravo” to have our lunch on June 25th. A girl came and greeting to us, she works here. At the first beginning, I thought she is Japanese, because her accent doesn’t sound like a Taiwanese.After we started to chat, I found out that she’s also from Taiwan. We are all surprised about this.She just arrived here like 10 days ago.We are all new comers in Tomamu lol
最も日本を感じた物事や体験を教えてください。
実に素晴らしい人と出会いました！ We met a really nice guy!
ここ星野リゾート・トマムのバスの運転スタッフの方です。グランドゴルフをプレーし終えた後、ミナミナビーチまで歩こうと決めました。バスの運転手の方が私達を見ていて、乗車するかどうか尋ねてくれました。実際にはミナミナビーチ行きのバスではなかったのですが、それでも、乗せて行ってくれたのです！！！本当に素敵で、心優しい男性スタッフでした。ミナミナビーチに向かうのに消費する、たくさんの体力と時間を節約できるように、彼に引き合わせてくれた神様に感謝してます。
The staffs here in Hoshino Resort Tomamu are really kind. After we finished playing the ground golf, we decided to walk to the Minamina beach. The bus driver saw us, and asked us if we need a ride but actually he is not heading to Minamina beach.However, he still gave us a ride!!! He is really a nice, kind-hearted guy.Thanks god let us meet him so that we saved a lot of energy and time to go to Minamina beach.

京都で出会った方々！ The people that I met in Kyoto!
京都を旅行している時、小さなバーで二人の素敵な方々に出会いました。一人は25歳のバーテンダーの男性で、もう一人は40歳前後のネイリストをされているの女性でした。なんと、私達は出会った後意気投合し、一緒にバーベキューをするために琵琶湖に行くことになりました。その女性の方は、たった二日前に合ったばかりの私達に大量の食べ物とワインを持ってきてくれました。
When I was traveling in Kyoto, I met 2 nice people at a small bar. The guy is a bartender (25y) , and the woman is a nail stylist (around 40’s). We went to Biwako for barbecue together. The woman brought us a lot of foods and wine, even though we just met like 2 days before.
彼女は色々なものを私達に気兼ねなく分けてくれ、彼女のことをとても好きになりました。男性の方も、バーベキューをしている間、気を配ってくれて、色々と助けてくれました。お二人は仕事中に、お別れの挨拶をするため見送りにも来てくれました。私はとても感動して、この様な方々とお会いできたことに、とても感謝したい気持ちでした。
She’s willing to share things with us so I really love her. The man also took care of us and helped us a lot while doing the barbecue. They even came to say goodbye to me during they were working. I was so touched and feel so grateful that I could meet this kind of people!
日本の好きなこと／嫌いなことを教えてください。
好きなこと
「鉄砲汁」を食べるのは初めてで、「えー、何これ？」という感じでした。普通の味噌汁や豚汁にくらべ、100倍凄いものでした。スープはとても甘く、まるで口の中に海が広がっているようでした。とても美味しく、他の食事がなくても鉄砲汁だけ食べる事ができればいいように思えました。北海道を発つ時には、とても名残惜しく思うでしょう。ここ星野リゾートで食べることができた食事はとても質の高いものでした。十年先のまたその先まで、この様な品質を維持して続けてもらうことができればと願っています。
The first time that I had the “鉄砲汁”, I was like “OH MY GOD! WHAT IS THIS? ” It’s one hundred times better than the normal misoshiru or tonjiru. The soup is really sweet, and it’s like you are having an ocean in your mouth. It’s so tasty that I think I can drink it only without having other kinds of food. I will miss it a lot once I leave Hokkaido. The quality of the food that we have here in Hoshino resort is really high. I wish you can continue to keep this kind of quality till next and the next decade lol
嫌いなこと
実際に、北海道での旅行は完璧に近いもので、何か気に入らないようなことについては思い当たりません。何か挙げなくてはいけないのであれば、おそらく現地の交通手段になると思います。その理由は、私は運転することができませんので、北海道で外出したり、周遊するのが私にとって不便なものになるからです。もし、富良野や札幌に直接向かうことができるシャトルバスがあれば、良くなると思います。ですが、星野リゾートで素敵な時を過ごせましたので、そのことはあまり大した問題ではありません！こんな素晴らしい出来事を全て体験できる、この様な素敵な機会を与えてもらえ、とても感謝しています！
Actually, the trip in Hokkaido is nearly perfect so I don’t think there’s something that I dislike about. If I must give a example, I think it might be the transportation. Because I am not able to drive, so it would be kind of inconvenient for me to go out or have a round trip in Hokkaido. If there’s a shuttle bus that goes to Furano or Sapporo directly, it will be better~ But since I had a good time in the resort, I think it’s not a big deal! Thanks for giving me for such a good chance to experience all of these amazing things!
