FEATURESWhat is YUKIDS SKI SCHOOL?

YUKIDS SKI SCHOOL is Hoshino Resorts' original ski lesson program, designed to help children master skiing through four fundamental movements based on sports science.

Building on years of proven experience, our lessons allow children to safely and reliably improve their skills while having fun in the snow.

This season, we are expanding our offering with multilingual support and introducing video-assisted lessons.

FEATURESFEATURE of YUKIDS SKI SCHOOL

Fun and Reliable Progress Powered by
Sports Science & Playful Learning

We developed a new method based on sports science in collaboration with Professor Makoto Takegoshi of Nippon Sport Science University. By analyzing children's natural movements, we identified the four essential movements required to master skiing.
Children learn these key skills through play on flat ground before smoothly transitioning to the slopes. It is a revolutionary lesson where kids naturally improve while having fun.

  • 1.Up and down movement

  • 2.Side-to-side movement

  • 3.Center of gravity

  • 4.Speed tolerance

Activities & Thoughts
As fewer young people take up skiing today, the true magic of snow sports is often lost on the next generation. That is why Hoshino Resorts' mission to "help children fall in love with skiing" struck such a strong chord with me, leading to our partnership in creating YUKIDS SKI SCHOOL.

By embedding play directly into the learning process, the program helps children realize for themselves just how fun skiing can be. Engaging with nature and discovering movement on snow is essential to healthy childhood development.

More than anything, I hope these winter family getaways create lasting childhood memories that nourish their future relationships and family bonds. As a scholar dedicated to ski instruction, there is no greater reward than contributing to that legacy.

Dedicated YUKIDS SKI SCHOOL Area for a Safe and Stress-Free Debut

Each resort features a dedicated YUKIDS SKI SCHOOL zone, giving children a safe, confidence-building environment for their ski debut. Reserved exclusively for lesson participants, these areas allow kids to practice comfortably without the distraction or concern of faster skiers and snowboarders passing by. (*1)

At Hoshino Resorts TOMAMU Ski Resort, a dedicated snow escalator carries children to the top of the slope while wearing their skis, ensuring plenty of time to practice sliding. Meanwhile, RISONARE Yatsugatake offers a free Level 1 indoor session at the "Yukids Snow Park," making it effortless for first-timers to take their very first steps on snow. (*2)*1 NEKOMA MOUNTAIN will hold lessons in a dedicated beginner area equipped with a magic carpet lift.
*2 Reservations required.
