Manga Artist. Born 1947 in Saitama. Since his 1971 debut, he has depicted bizarre fantasy worlds based on medieval legends. In 1998, “Doing Time,” based on his prison experience, gained fame and was filmed in 2002. Works include “Tsuki no Hikari” and “Suzakumon.”
