This popular restaurant is located near the Kannawa area, where the Beppu specialty "Hell" is dotted. The charming old-style building will evoke a sense of travel, and the menu of local dishes and sweets will lift your spirits even more. The popular "Dango-jiru" is made by kneading wheat flour, salt, and water, stretching it into strips, and putting them in a miso soup with other ingredients. The handmade "dango" is chewy and springy, and very satisfying to eat. As the restaurant was originally a mochi shop, there are many delicious dishes on the menu, such as "tsukitate," where freshly pounded mochi is served with red bean paste, kinako, and grated daikon, and "mochi gratin." Mysterious spring water and powerful steam. A must-see attraction for tourists in Beppu: "Hell"

Since ancient times, places in Beppu where hot steam and boiling water spew out have been called "jigoku," or "hells," and have been feared by many. One of these, Umi-Jigoku, with its beautiful cobalt blue color, is one of Beppu's most famous scenic spots. The sound of the tremendous gurgle of steam and the color of the blue water changes depending on the season and weather, delighting visitors. The spacious grounds also include a footbath with the spring water flowing freely, a greenhouse, a lotus pond, an observatory, and a gallery, making it a spot well worth seeing. If you get hungry after strolling around, you can enjoy eating "hot spring eggs" and "jigokushi pudding" boiled directly in "jigoku" (hell). The specialty bath salts sold at the store make great souvenirs.

This is a long-established restaurant founded in 1926 (Taisho 15). The signature dish "Toriten" has been served since around 1937 (Showa 12), and is now a representative taste of Oita Prefecture. The secret to its deliciousness is a secret sauce made from an original soy sauce and aromatic vegetables such as garlic. Domestic chicken thighs are marinated in the sauce for about a day to thoroughly season them. The batter is made without water, using only wheat flour, potato starch, and fresh eggs from Oita Prefecture. When eaten with the restaurant's original kabosu vinegar soy sauce and mustard, it's so delicious you won't be able to stop eating. Other popular Chinese noodle dishes include "Beef and Pork Noodles" made with noodles imported from Taiwan and the hearty "Shark Fin Ramen."
