Local Guide FAQ

What are the recommended spots in the Yomitan area?

A recommended spot in the Yomitan area is Toya Fishing Port, a 10-minute drive from our hotel. You can enjoy freshly fried fluffy tempura, a classic Okinawan snack, and the seafood bowl and Toya Fishing Port's original mozuku bowl are popular for their mild flavors that can be enjoyed by both children and adults.

Please tell us about some hidden spots that you know because you live there.

Another highlight is the flowers that allow you to experience the four seasons, unique to Okinawa. In January, you can enjoy the bright pink Kanhizakura cherry blossoms in Yaedake in the far north, and in March in spring, you can enjoy the dignified purple Okurareruka flowers in Ogimi village. In July, the dreamy Sagaribana flowers, which only bloom at night, bloom in Yomitan village, Naha city, and Nago city, and in October, the orange Royal Poinciana blooms in full glory near Naha Kokusai-dori. We recommend taking a flower tour of Okinawa according to the season.

道標
What is your most memorable trip?

I backpacked alone for several months in five countries in Southeast Asia, including the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Taiwan. I still have fond memories of the days I spent wandering the markets searching for tasty foods, relying instead on my nose and not relying on guidebooks as much as possible.

カバン
What do you do on your days off?

My recent hobby is eating foreign food while watching TV programs that introduce tourist spots and markets around the world. Watching videos of various countries and eating food from those countries makes me feel like I'm traveling, and it makes me even more excited for my next trip.

コーヒー
Is there anything you always bring with you on your travels?

One thing I always take with me is amphibious KEEN sandals. I can walk anywhere in the sea, mountains, and city with just these sandals, and they can be coordinated with both casual and sportswear, so they are very useful when I want to travel with minimal luggage.
