Q&A

What should I bring on a ski/snowboard trip?
Essentials include top and bottom wear, skis or a snowboard, poles, boots and accessories like goggles, hats and gloves. For beginners, we recommend choosing a facility or ski resort where you can rent all these items. Additionally, consider bringing undergarments for your wear (quick-dry, warm inner tops, fleece, and tights for bottoms), thick socks, snow boots, thin inner gloves and a lift ticket holder for added convenience.
When is the ski/snowboard season?
The season varies by location and weather conditions, but typically, ski resorts are open from late November through early April. Hoshino Resorts NEKOMA Mountain, connected to the Bandaisan Onsen Hotel, offers a long season from early December to the end of Golden Week in May.
Can the facilities be used on a day trip basis?
Some facilities allow day-trip visitors to use restaurants, large public baths and other amenities. For more details, please check the facility's website.
What hotels are recommended for families with children on a ski/snowboard trip?
For family ski trips, consider Hoshino Resorts Tomamu, RISONARE Yatsugatake or Bandaisan Onsen Hotel. These hotels offer Hoshino Resorts' original "Yukids 70" ski lesson programs, designed to help young skiers improve or make their debut on the slopes. Besides skiing, there are numerous facilities available for additional enjoyment.
