For lunch on the first day of your trip, head to Shichirin Mura, where you can enjoy charcoal-grilled food purchased on the market. 14:00 Kabushima Shrine
The flying black-tailed gulls, the guardians of Hachinohe

Kabushima is a small island connected to the mainland that has been designated a national natural monument as a breeding ground for black-tailed gulls. Every year, about 30,000 black-tailed gulls arrive in early March, lay eggs, hatch, and leave the island in August.
Kabushima Shrine, which sits on the top of the island, enshrines Benzaiten, the goddess of fortune, and is worshipped as the god of prosperity in business, good luck, and matchmaking. As the characters for "kabu" and "kabu" (stock) are pronounced the same, the shrine also has popular charms that are said to bring good luck in raising stock prices and popularity.
If you visit during the breeding season, be careful not only of the black-tailed gulls at your feet, but also of the droppings from above. If you are hit by droppings (luck), it is a sign of good fortune. If you apply at the shrine office, you will receive a "Kaiun Certificate."

On the second day, we will visit a sake brewery founded in 1775 (An'ei 4), famous for its fine sakes such as "Mutsu Otokoyama" and "Mutsu Hassen." Using rice and yeast from Aomori Prefecture and the famous water from the Kanisawa area of Hachinohe, the brewery continues to brew sake with consideration for the environment and health, and was ranked first in the 2021 "World Sake Brewery Rankings."
In addition to the sake they are proud of, the plaster storehouse and red brick storehouse from the Taisho period are also must-sees. Six of the buildings are registered as tangible cultural properties by the country, and you can tour the storehouses. After enjoying some delicious sake, head to a famous seafood restaurant. Minato Shokudo near Mutsuminato Station is a restaurant that won the gold medal in the seafood bowl category of the 1st National Donburi Grand Prix. Many people from all over the country come here to enjoy the seafood bowls, even expecting to have to wait in line.
The recommended dish is the Fisherman's Tsukemono Rice Bowl, which is packed with seasonal seafood. It is a luxurious bowl of thick scallops, bouncy squid, octopus, sweet shrimp, salmon roe, tuna and other seafood, all dipped in a secret sauce. Mixed with the egg yolk of a free-range chicken from Aomori Prefecture, the rich flavor will surely make you unable to stop eating. 13:30 Hachinohe City Buried Cultural Properties Center Korekawa Jomon Museum
Travel back in time to the Jomon period through viewing and Experience

Aomori Prefecture is home to many Jomon period ruins. The Korekawa Jomon Museum exhibits around 600 pieces of pottery, clay figurines, lacquerware, and other items excavated from the World Heritage Site of the Korekawa Stone Age, as well as the Kazahari 1 Ruin in Hachinohe.
Among the many exhibits, the ones that catch your eye are the numerous clay figurines, including the Shakoki Clay figurines. Looking at the clay figurines in various poses and with their rich expressions, you will find yourself smiling. Waiting in the farthest exhibition room is the National Treasure "Gassho Clay figurines." This is a precious piece of work, as it is the only complete clay figurine in Japan, seated with palms together.
Every Sunday, there are Jomon Experience such as making magatama and making fire. The shop's popular items are based on clay figurines.

Aomori is a place where fishermen take a morning bath to warm themselves up in hot spring. On the third day, we get up early and head to the outdoor bath, Motoyu. The bathroom windows are decorated with Tsugaru Vidro, a local glass craft. Yuagari lounge also uses Tsugaru Vidro floating ball lighting, creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere.

Due to the climate that nurtured the Jomon culture, Aomori has always been close to art and has produced a diverse range of artists. This museum houses and exhibits works mainly by artists from Aomori Prefecture, such as woodblock artist Shiko Munakata, contemporary artist Yoshitomo Nara, and Ultraman designer Toru Narita. The unique white-walled building was designed with inspiration from the excavation site of the nearby World Heritage Site, Sannai-Maruyama Ruins. The innovative architectural beauty is also a highlight.
The "Aomori Dog" by Hirosaki-born Nara Yoshitomo is the museum's symbol, standing at about 8.5m in height. It shows different expressions depending on the viewing angle, drawing visitors in. This museum is a must-see for anyone wanting to learn about the Aomori Nebuta Festival, a summer festival representing the Tohoku region. The museum introduces the history of the Nebuta Festival, the production process, and the makers of the Nebuta floats, known as "Nebuta shi," through exhibits and videos.
Lined up in the Nebuta Hall, which has an atrium that reaches up to the second floor, are large nebuta floats that actually take part in festivals. The sight of four colorful nebuta floats lined up, each measuring 9m wide, 5m tall, and 7m deep, is a spectacular sight. Don't miss the "Touch Nebuta," where you can touch the nebuta's parts. You can get a good look at the complex structure and the texture of the washi paper, and get a sense of the passion that the people of Aomori have for their nebuta floats.
Nebuta music is played on stage three times a day, and the shop sells Nebuta goods such as T-shirts and miscellaneous items.

The last stop on your trip will be a spot where you can find all the delicious foods of Aomori. A-FACTORY near Wa Rasse is Property houses a cider factory and food market, where you can enjoy a slightly sparkling drink made from apples.
The apples used to make the original brand "Aomori Cider" are 100% produced in Aomori Prefecture. The cider, made from a blend of Fuji and Jonagold apples, has a fine foam and an excellent balance of sweetness and acidity. Various types of cider are available, including sweet and dry. The non-alcoholic "Apple Soda" made only with Jonagold apples is also popular.
