~ This year's theme is "Yamanashi Nouveau," with a release ceremony to savor Yamanashi Nouveau as soon as it's available ~

Hoshino Resorts RISONARE Yatsugatake, a resort hotel nestled in the nature-rich Yatsugatake area, will be holding the "Yatsugatake Wine Festa" event from November 3rd to 17th, 2024, where guests can enjoy wine and sweets under the autumn sky. This year, the theme is "Yamanashi Nouveau," a new wine released every November, and 30 varieties of Yamanashi Nouveau will be available for purchase during the event. On the eve of the event, a "Yamanashi Nouveau Release Ceremony" will be held to celebrate the release. Guests can enjoy Yamanashi Nouveau as soon as it's released while listening to the insights of winery staff on winemaking.
During the event, guests can purchase wine directly from winery staff, and the Yatsugatake Wine House will offer a "Wine School - Yamanashi Nouveau Edition." This event at the wine resort is perfect for fully enjoying wine in autumn, when new wines are released.
Background
Hokuto City in Yamanashi Prefecture, where RISONARE Yatsugatake is located, was the first area in Japan to be certified as a "Wine Special Zone" (*1) in 2008. As it is located in one of Japan's leading wine-growing areas, it offers not only a variety of ways to drink wine but also intellectual experiences related to wine, facilities and activities within the hotel, accommodation plans, and other experiences that allow guests to encounter the charm of wine. Yamanashi Prefecture is now known as a world-class wine region, and its climate, rich in seasonal changes, is said to be an ideal environment for winemaking (*2). Autumn, with the release of new wines, is the perfect season to enjoy wine. Guests will get to enjoy "Yamanashi Nouveau" (*3) in this land where wine is made, amidst the pleasant autumn climate.

*1 Established in 2002 as one of the Structural Reform Zones. It is a special zone where a license can be obtained with a minimum production volume of one-third (2,000 liters) of the normal minimum production volume (6,000 liters) stipulated by the Liquor Tax Law.
