RISONARE Yatsugatake Hosts First “Winter Wine Festa”

-
Hoshino Resorts RISONARE Yatsugatake, a resort hotel nestled in the nature-rich Yatsugatake area, will hold its first "Winter Wine Festa" from January 5th to March 9th, 2025. This event offers a unique way to warm up and enjoy wine during the winter season. A food truck on Piment Street, the main street, will serve a wine hotpot inspired by "brasato," a popular Italian stew, made with "Muscat Bailey A" wine. Also available is hot mulled wine customizable with a selection of 10 spices and fruits, including "suritane" (*1), a local Yamanashi condiment, cinnamon, and strawberries. Piment Street will be transformed with wine barrel and cork tables and a bonfire fueled by vine clippings (*2), creating a cozy, wine-themed atmosphere for guests to enjoy.

Taking advantage of its location in one of Japan's leading wine-growing areas, RISONARE Yatsugatake offers a variety of wine-related experiences. These include a wide selection of wines, wine-tasting seminars, and activities incorporating the use of wine throughout the hotel and in their accommodation plans. This event focuses on two representative Yamanashi grape varieties, the indigenous "Koshu" and "Muscat Bailey A", offering guests a chance to warm up from the inside out with hot wine and wine hotpot during the cold Yatsugatake winter.

Features

1Wine Hotpot with "Muscat Bailey A" Wine

A food truck on Piment Street will offer a perfect dish for the cold Yatsugatake winter: wine hotpot. Inspired by “brasato” (*4), a popular Italian stew, this hotpot incorporates “Muscat Bailey A,” a representative Yamanashi grape variety and a native Japanese species. The ingredients include beef, which pairs well with the light tannins of “Muscat Bailey A,” and winter vegetables such as turnips and Brussels sprouts, enhancing the texture and sweetness of the dish. Enjoy the balance of the vegetables’ natural umami and the rich, smooth, fruity soup featuring “Muscat Bailey A.”

*4 A type of stew and a representative local dish of Piedmont, Italy.

2100 Customizable Mulled Wine Variations

The food truck on Piment Street will also offer customizable mulled wine with a selection of 10 spices and fruits. Four base wines are available, made with “Koshu” and “Muscat Bailey A” grapes. Each wine is paired with spices and fruits that complement its flavor and aroma. For example, “Muscat Bailey A,” characterized by light tannins and a strawberry candy-like aroma, is balanced with the sweetness of strawberries and the spiciness of “suritane,” a local Yamanashi condiment. The fruity and refreshing “Koshu” grape pairs well with yuzu and cloves for a refreshing twist. Enjoy a total of 100 variations of hot wine, from classic to unexpected combinations, perfect for the cold winter.
