Ibaraki Prefecture has ranked first in melon production for 23 consecutive years. (*2) We thus decided to create the “Whole Melon Shaved Ice”, made by filling a whole frozen melon with shaved ice, covering it with melon syrup and topping it with whipped cream and red meat melon sauce. The melon sauce is supposed to be poured by the customer itself right before eating, and this is a moment that will definitely look great on video. This is a perfect refreshing summer sweet using Ibaraki’s number one product.

Ibaraki Prefecture is the second largest producer of sweet potatoes in Japan, but if you consider production only for food consumption, it is the largest producer in Japan. (*3) For this dessert, we pour sweet potato syrup on the shaved ice, top it with a generous amount of baked sweet potato cream (a mix of baked sweet potato and custard whip), and finish by caramelizing the surface. The surface is crispy and the inside is thick, creating a very peculiar texture. You will be able to enjoy the enhanced sweetness of the baked sweet potato, this time as a shaved ice cold dessert.

Ibaraki Prefecture ranks third in blueberry production. (*4) Tsukuba City, which is adjacent to Tsuchiura City, is one of the three major blueberry production areas in Japan (with Kodaira City, Tokyo Prefecture and Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture). With this dessert, you will be able to cover your shaved ice with blueberries and top it with an original blueberry sauce and whipped cream. The refreshing sweet and sour taste of blueberries is perfect for summer. Let’s eat shaved ice with tons of blueberries and blow away the heat of summer!
