Concept: "Enjoy 120% of Hakodate!"
Hakodate is a renowned port city surrounded by the sea on three sides, offering abundant seafood throughout the seasons. As Japan's first international trading port, it maintains a unique cityscape filled with historic architecture and a spectacular night view from Mount Hakodate. OMO5 Hakodate aims to showcase the city's well-known attractions alongside deeper, local favorites—such as the 70-year-old Hakodate Free Market and lively street food stalls—ensuring guests experience the very best of the city from morning until late at night.
A Breakfast Buffet Celebrating Fresh Port City Seafood
The hotel’s breakfast buffet features a vibrant array of Japanese and Western dishes, with a primary focus on fresh local seafood. At the "Seafront Five Stars" live kitchen—designed in the shape of the Goryokaku fort—chefs prepare five signature items:
The dining area is designed to reflect the local sea, featuring squid-ink dyed art boards and fishing-net lighting.
Seamless Sightseeing with Exclusive Guest Shuttles
OMO5 Hakodate offers two dedicated bus services to enhance the guest experience.

OMO Base: A 24-Hour Public Space

The OMO Base is a versatile public space featuring the OMO Cafe & Bar, a shop, and the Go-KINJO Map. The interior incorporates retro elements like brick pillars and interior elements reflecting the flickering lights of offshore fishing boats, complemented by stained-glass lighting. This retro-inspired space features artistic touches and various seating arrangements, providing a comfortable environment for guests to plan their travels, rest between walks, or relax after viewing the night scenery from Mount Hakodate.
Local Rhythm Night: "Hakodate Night View Time"

Every evening, the OMO Base is illuminated by stained-glass lights representing the colors of the city. Guests can enjoy two varieties of "Sparkling Melon Soda" or soft-serve ice cream while listening to the gentle sounds of a hand-cranked organ. This organ, originally built for the Goryokaku Tower and dormant for five years, was restored by hotel staff to bring music back to the community.
Natural Hot Springs: Amber-Colored Waters
The guest-only bathhouse features a 100% natural, free-flowing hot spring. The sodium-chloride strong salt spring (pH 6.8) is characterized by its brownish-red, iron-rich water, which is known for its excellent heat retention. The facility includes outdoor "pot baths" (tsubo-yu) and both dry and mist saunas.
Go-KINJO: Discover the Heart of the Neighborhood
The "Go-KINJO" service helps guests immerse themselves in the local community through two main components.
