Marking Hoshino Resorts' first expansion into Fukuoka Prefecture, the property is located in the "Mojiko Retro District”, offering a panoramic view of the grand Kanmon Strait. Under the concept of a “Tokimeki* Stay by the Strait," the stay proposes an exciting experience that blends dynamic landscapes with BEB's signature playful spirit. This press release introduces the full stay experience, allowing guests to savor the ever-changing moods of the strait alongside playful encounters.
*Tokimeki is a Japanese term that refers to a feeling of excitement, heart-fluttering joy, delight, or excitement that makes your heart beat faster.

Concept: "Tokimeki Stay by the Strait"
Located in the heart of the historic Mojiko Retro District, BEB5 Mojiko overlooks the sweeping views of the Kanmon Strait and a nostalgically charming cityscape. Surrounded by the ever-changing beauty of the strait as its mood shifts throughout the day, the hotel offers an exhilarating, memorable stay infused with BEB’s signature playful charm.

5 Exciting Features of BEB5 Mojiko

1. "TAMARIBA" — A 24-Hour Public Space Where Excitement Never Ends
TAMARIBA, the BEB brand's iconic public lounge, is an open, 24-hour communal space with an integrated café and shop. Designed for effortless gatherings, the space welcomes outside food and drink, offering a relaxed environment for friends to socialize—an expansive experience that goes beyond a standard guestroom.
Whether sharing local takeout, finding a cozy corner to unwind until dawn, or simply hanging out, guests can enjoy a flexible, free-spirited stay tailored to their mood around the clock.Public space "TAMARIBA"

MIZUBA
On the top floor of the hotel, TAMARIBA extends out to a rooftop terrace known as "MIZUBA"—an open-air sanctuary offering panoramic, 24-hour views of the Kanmon Strait.
Here, guests can immerse themselves in the majestic, ever-changing scenery as the day unfolds: from the bustling daytime maritime traffic and dramatic sunsets that paint the sky and sea in deep crimson, to the glittering night skyline of Shimonoseki across the water and the illuminated Kanmon Bridge.Rooftop terrace "MIZUBA" Grand view of the Kanmon Strait viewed from "MIZUBA"

2. Guestrooms Offering Breathtaking Strait-view
All 119 guestrooms offer views of the Kanmon Strait, where dynamic waters and passing ships frame the windows. A window-side daybed and a round sofa serve as prime vantage points for taking in the breathtaking coastal vistas.
Designed in a blue palette inspired by the strait's waters, the rooms are accented with cushions and artwork crafted from "Kokura-ori," a traditional local textile. Here, the majestic scenery outside harmonizes with the refined textures of Kokura-ori, creating an inviting backdrop for memorable moments with close friends.

“Strait View Sauna Room with Terrace” — A Private Retreat Surrounded by Panoramic Views and Retro Charm
The special "Strait View Sauna Room with Terrace" is a premium guestroom fully equipped with an authentic, private dry sauna. Featuring self-löyly capabilities, it allows guests to infuse the steam with their choice of soothing aromatherapy scents.
Step out onto the private terrace to find a cold plunge bath and outdoor loungers. Cooling down in the sea breeze while taking in dynamic views of the Kanmon Bridge creates an unforgettable, invigorating experience. Free from rigid rules or set hours, guests can unwind entirely at their own pace—whether stretching out on the bed post-sauna or sipping a refreshing drink as they cool off.Sauna where you can also enjoy self-löyly Outdoor loungers at the private terrace

3. An Infinity Semi-outdoor Public Bath Connecting to the Kanmon Strait
Located on the top floor, the semi-outdoor public bath features an infinity-edge design where the water appears to merge with the expansive view of the Kanmon Strait. In this open space, which feels seamlessly integrated with the sea, guests can surrender both mind and body to the grand scenery while soothing travel fatigue. From dusk into the night, the bath becomes a prime vantage point overlooking the sparkling lights of ships navigating the Kanmon Strait and the beautiful night view of Shimonoseki on the opposite shore.

4. "Noodle Bar Buffet" Featuring Multinational Noodle Dishes
The restaurant’s concept, "Noodle Bar Buffet," is inspired by the history of Mojiko, which once flourished as an international trading port. This experiential buffet allows guests to customize multinational noodle dishes from Japan, other parts of Asia, and beyond to suit their personal preferences. By freely combining various noodles, soups, and toppings, guests can experience the thrill of crafting their own original bowl. In addition to noodle dishes, freshly baked French toast is served at breakfast, and teppanyaki-style beef is offered at dinner from the live kitchen. With the dynamic view of the Kanmon Strait unfolding right before them, guests can fully enjoy a special, made-to-order dining experience.BEB5 Mojiko restaurant overview"Noodle Bar Buffet" where you can customize to your liking

5. Signature Activities: Strait Sunsets & Retro Nightscapes

"Strait Sunset Hour" — Sunset Over the Kanmon Strait
Signaled by the ringing of a ship’s bell, this sunset gathering celebrates the maritime spirit of a channel traversed by over 500 ships daily. The event kicks off with a dramatic "champagne sabrage" performance, opening sparkling wine with a sword. Guests can then sip champagne or non-alcoholic beverages while watching the sky transform over the water as the sun dips below the horizon.Enjoying the sunset view Enjoying drinks while watching the sunset

"Retro Night Lounge" — Embracing the Nostalgic Charm of Mojiko
At night, TAMARIBA transforms into the "Retro Night Lounge," evocative of the exotic Taisho Roman era. Guests can step back into Mojiko’s heyday as a bustling international trading port, surrounded by nostalgic café menus and a vintage typewriter salon that bring the history of the era to life.Photo spot with a Taisho Roman motif Retro cafe menu at Retro Night Lounge
