The journey begins with a cycling trip to the pear orchard. Participants will head to Fukuda Green Farm, located in Kasumigaura City, a pear-producing area adjacent to the northeastern part of Tsuchiura City, about 10 kilometers (approximately 1 hour) away. The electric-assist bicycles make it easy to climb hills, even for those who don’t cycle regularly. Upon arrival at the farm, guests will enjoy about an hour of pear picking. The harvested pears will be loaded onto the bicycle’s cargo carrier and brought back to the hotel.
Upon arrival at the farm, guests will first experience pear picking and savor the exceptional freshness of the newly harvested pears. In addition to enjoying the juicy pears as they are, guests will also indulge in a “Pear Morning.” Using bread received from the locally beloved bakery “Couronne” before departure, they will create sandwiches filled with prosciutto and freshly picked pears, enjoying the exquisite harmony of the prosciutto’s saltiness and the pear’s sweetness. The deliciousness of the homemade sandwiches, paired with the accompanying salad and tea, is exceptional. It’s a special moment to savor the season’s pears, surrounded by pear trees on a refreshing autumn morning.
Back at the hotel, guests will challenge themselves to make individual-sized “Fresh Pear Tarts.” They can arrange their harvested pears as they like and decorate them with whipped cream, sliced almonds, or other toppings to create their original pear tarts. Simply adding pears and toppings makes it easy to create beautiful desserts! Finally, friends can compare their creations and take photos together.
