OMO Dining

Morning buffet with a luxurious assortment of seafood

Beginning its history as an international trading port with the arrival of Commodore Perry, Hakodate, where Fort Goryokaku and the Hakodate Magistrate's Office were built, flourished as a plentiful fishing ground and a port of call for northbound ships, developing a diverse food culture that is still firmly rooted in the city.

The dining area is designed to symbolize the city of Hakodate, and dishes that utilize the food culture form a gorgeous assortment.

The "Goryokaku" concept is central to the buffet

An open kitchen inspired by Fort Goryokaku is in the center of the dining area, serving meals prepared right before your eyes on a star-shaped counter.

The bright and open space is inspired by the Hakodate sea filled with plentiful fishing grounds has decoration such as squid-dyed art boards and fishing net lights.

Seafood Five Stars

Vibrantly colorful "Seafood Bowl"

At the Goryokaku-themed buffet table, we serve seafood bowls, charcoal-grilled foods, seaside ramen, sushi, and rice-stuffed squid rice, dubbed Seafood Five Stars.

Make a seafood bowl with your favorite ingredients

Plate four or so types of seafood to your liking in original star-shaped dishes inspired by Fort Goryokaku, from popular toppings such as salmon, shrimp, and scallops to toppings coupled with a sweet pickled sauce.

"Rice-stuffed squid," an Abe Shoten original

"Rice-stuffed squid" was first thought up in 1945 as a box lunch at Mori Station on the Hakodate Main Line.

Abe Shoten's original "rice-stuffed squid" is still made by locals using traditional methods, and at OMO, it is served warm while the flavor soaks in.

Shio Ramen

This is not "salt" ramen, but "tio" ramen, which takes advantage of the flavor of seafood.

The soup is richly flavored with kelp, shellfish, and crab broth, and the noodles are kneaded with kelp.

Sushi

We serve three types of sushi toppings: squid, salmon, and yellowtail.
Each topping is finished with our original soy sauce to make the most of the savor of the fish.

Charcoal grilling

Charcoal grilling is a fittingly northern way to see seasonal seafood and vegetables cooked right before your eyes.
It is full of Hokkaido's flavors, from squid legs to corn, potatoes, asparagus, and so on.

Winter Squid Festival” for a limited time only

In addition to the usual breakfast buffet, a limited time event is now being held. 14 dishes of Japanese, Western and Chinese varieties of squid dishes will be served so that you can enjoy squid in various styles.
