OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda by Hoshino Resorts is opening on April 11th, 2024 with the concept "A Paradise of Night Views and Culinary Delights"
City-tourism hotel, OMO by Hoshino Resorts is opening a new hotel called OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda in Shinagawa Ward, Tokyo. Located about 6 minutes' walk from Gotanda Station, the hotel occupies the high-rise floors situated between 60 and 100 meters high in the Gotanda JP Building, a building that houses offices, co-working spaces, halls, and commercial facilities. Guests can enjoy views of neighboring areas such as Shinagawa, Meguro, and Osaki from their rooms. The concept of the hotel is "a paradise of night views and culinary delights," suggesting that guests can enjoy the night scenes from the high-rise floors as well as the many renowned gourmet restaurants in Gotanda.
Concept: A Paradise of Night Views and Culinary Delights
The area around Gotanda Station is a bustling hub with a wide variety of eateries, with an estimated 1,300 establishments (*1) within a 2-kilometer radius of the station. The area is a mix of old and new, with classic Western-style restaurants operating for over half a century, quaint French eateries, standing udon noodle shops that always have long lines, and trendy bakeries. In recent years, renowned places serving mouth-watering specialties have sprung up, gaining recognition through social media and other platforms. OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda captures the charm of Gotanda's streets as a "culinary paradise," inviting first-time visitors to indulge in the local gourmet scene. After a delightful meal, we want guests to enjoy the view of the glittering city from the hotel's upper floors, immersed in the lingering happiness of the experience.

OMO Base with a Garden Terrace 60 Meters Above Ground
A signature feature of OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda is the OMO Base, located 60 meters above the ground. Arriving by elevator on the 14th floor, a dynamic space with a ceiling height of 6 meters unfolds over an area of approximately 1,200 square meters. This floor houses the OMO Cafe & Bar, a shop, a dog garden, and the Garden Terrace with waterscapes. The OMO Base serves as a hub for urban stays across all OMO hotels, offering guests a place to plan city walks with a curated map, take a breather in the spacious cafe, or hang out in the garden and enjoy the time as one pleases.
Garden Terrace
This garden provides a park-like setting where guests can relax under the open sky surrounded by lush greenery. In the garden's center is a shallow pond dotted with small islands where you can dip your feet in the water during the summer. Despite being in the middle of the city, the garden is a refreshing place to visit anytime during the day—morning, noon, or night.
OMO Cafe & Bar
The cafe has a bright atmosphere with large glass windows overlooking the garden. It's an all-day café, open from breakfast until late at night, suitable for any occasion. The menu offers comforting drinks, such as freshly brewed lattes to ease the fatigue of a city stroll and alcoholic beverages to enjoy while taking in the night view, all inspired by the local city scene.
Breakfast
For breakfast, the comfort food of Japan, onigiri, will be served with special attention to the quality of the rice and its ingredients. Under the supervision of a five-star rice meister (*2) at Sumidaya, a rice specialty store founded in 1905, an original blend of rice was created. The water content and texture of the rice were carefully examined to suit the breakfast at OMO5 Tokyo Gotanda. The ingredients used for the onigiri are also carefully selected from all over the country, with 10 different kinds available, from classic flavors such as umeboshi (sour plum) to simmered beef. In addition, it comes with miso soup made with miso from Sakamoto Shoten, a miso specialty store in Gotanda since 1922, for a satisfying first meal of the day.
(*2) Rice meister: A qualification given only to those who have professional experience in rice, which can be said to be a doctorate in rice, organized by the Japan Rice Masters Association.
Examples of ingredients used in onigiri: simmered beef, seafood, green chili spicy cod roe, bonito flakes mixed with soy sauce, boiled whitebait, aged umeboshi (sour plum), takana greens with egg yolk, grilled salmon, salted konbu, tuna and mayo.
Cafe and Bar time menu
During the day, desserts such as parfaits and croissants, vegan curry, and original beverages are available for purchase during an enjoyable cafe time. A collaborative set of fried chicken and yakitori with Shinanoya, a 70-year-old restaurant in Gotanda specializing in chicken, will be available at night. Enjoy the set with an alcoholic beverage such as the OMO Lemon Sour or Japanese Rum Coke.
OMO Dog Garden
Some of the dog-friendly rooms (on the 14th floor), where guests can stay with their beloved pets, have direct access to a dog garden area. This area is exclusively for guests with pet dogs and has indoor and outdoor areas. It's a place where you can relax with your pet and bring food and drinks from the OMO Cafe to enjoy together.
Guest Rooms Inspired by the Cityscape
The hotel offers 10 types of rooms, with a total of 188 rooms. In all rooms, guests can take off their shoes to relax. The design of all the rooms is inspired by the bustling eateries of Gotanda, incorporating elements reminiscent of the bricks of Western-style restaurants or the tile work found in buildings housing snack bars and izakayas. The sofas and pillows in the rooms are in retro colors such as brown, orange, and green. Lighting that resembles the neon signs of eateries is also installed in all the rooms, adding a vibrant atmosphere. The room arrangements cater to different-sized groups, with rooms primarily for 2 to 3 people, deluxe rooms for 4 people, and the "OMO House Suite" for 6 people, which includes a kitchen, making it perfect for group stays. Guests can choose rooms based on their trip's purpose and their travel companions.
Go-KINJO: A Service to Thoroughly Enjoy the City
