RISONARE Nasu to Offer Exclusive Winter Brunch “YATAI to FARM” Amidst Snowy Rice Fields

Savor freshly prepared dishes featuring soil-stored vegetables at a private seat with exclusive views of the snow-covered Nasu Mountains

Hoshino Resorts RISONARE Nasu, an Agritourism Resort in the highlands, invites guests to the exclusive winter brunch “YATAI to FARM” from January 5 to March 20, 2026, available for one group per day. At the heart of this culinary experience are soil-stored vegetables. After being harvested from the resort’s Agri Garden, the vegetables are stored in the soil to preserve their freshness. Guests will harvest these soil-stored vegetables themselves and enjoy freshly prepared, charcoal-grilled dishes at a special private seat set in the middle of the rice fields. With the exclusive views of the snow-covered Nasu Mountains and surrounding rural scenery, this seasonal location allows guests to fully savor the bounty of winter.

About “YATAI to FARM”
RISONARE Nasu connects guests with nature, rural landscapes, and local agriculture. Inspired by the “Farm to Table” concept, this event reverses the idea by bringing the dining table to the farm, using the resort’s fields and rice paddies. Chefs prepare vegetables from the Agri Garden at a pop-up grill stall, serving each dish freshly made to order. Guests can enjoy seasonal flavors and the beauty of the season with all five senses, in a dining experience truly unique to RISONARE Nasu.

Features of “YATAI to FARM”
1. A Winter-Only Experience: Harvesting Soil-Stored Vegetables

At the Agri Garden, where more than 120 varieties of vegetables and herbs are grown year-round, guests can join a guided tour led by staff who are experts on every part of the garden. To ensure vegetables remain fresh when needed, farmers store root vegetables in the soil during winter. This traditional method, called soil storage, protects the vegetables from frost and maintains a stable temperature and humidity, allowing long-term preservation. During the tour, guests can experience this winter-only activity by digging up soil-stored vegetables themselves.

2. Savor the True Flavor of Vegetables

The vegetables are grilled simply over charcoal by the chefs at a pop-up grill stall set along the rice fields. Cooking over charcoal brings out the natural sweetness and umami of the vegetables, creating rich, satisfying flavors. The course also includes Bollito Misto, a traditional Italian stew of pork and root vegetables that warms the body, and oven-baked apple pie. Each dish is freshly prepared and served individually, allowing guests to enjoy the full flavors of the seasonal ingredients.

3. Exclusive Private Seat with Views of the Nasu Mountains

A special private seat is set up in the center of an 8,500-square-meter rice field, available for one group per day. To ensure a comfortable experience even in the cold winter, a dome-shaped tent is provided, with transparent walls that allow guests to enjoy the views of the rice fields and the snow-covered Nasu Mountains while staying warm. This private space offers a serene and immersive setting where guests can relax and savor their brunch while taking in the crisp winter air and stunning scenery.
