Spend an elegant moonlit autumn evening with a dining experience at your cabin’s terrace under the breathtaking moonlight view and admire the fantastic moonshine and gaze at Mt. Autumn is the best season to enjoy moonlit nights with its clear air and pleasant weather. HOSHINOYA Fuji lies at the lush northern foothills of Mt. Fuji and has minimal lighting to guarantee time to enjoy the natural light of the moon and stars. Bask in the moonlight at the Cloud Terrace, or admire the moon, stars, and Lake Kawaguchi’s fantastic moonlit view from your cabin’s terrace. This program was developed in the hopes to share the beauty of moonlit nights and the true brightness of the moon through the full range of activities at HOSHINOYA Fuji, a glamping resort blessed with the natural environment. Characteristic 1: Moon-waiting teatime in a midair tent amid the forest
Enjoy the moon-waiting teatime activity in an area surrounded by HOSHINOYA Fuji’s forest while waiting for the moon to rise. Relish in a cup of herbal tea blended according to the moon’s phases and body’s rhythms along with a small pastry in a midair tent floating among the trees, an exclusive feature of this program. After your leisurely teatime, read books about the moon and gaze at the night sky in our comfortable midair tent, relaxing until it’s time to appreciate the moon.
Characteristic 2: Moonlight dinner on a terrace surrounded by breathtaking scenery
Enjoy dinner atop the cabin’s terrace with a breathtaking view of the moon and Lake Kawaguchi in front of you. Relish in a course meal featuring the autumn flavors in a private area with spacious sofas. For the appetizer, savor a combination of five grains (rice, wheat, beans, foxtail millet, and proso millet) harvested in autumn with the local cuisine and ingredients of Yamanashi Prefecture. For the main course, indulge in rice cooked in a Dutch oven with matsutake mushrooms and ginkgo nuts topped with roast beef and served with dashi broth. The meal is paired with Gekka Chardonnay wine from Mie Ikeno, a winery in the Yatsugatake Mountains. The wine’s oaky aroma, rich fruitiness, and thick flavor accompany the aromas and delicate flavors of the meal’s every ingredient. This special wine was made only from Chardonnay harvested at night when the moon illuminates the vineyards, making it the perfect drink for admiring the beautiful moon. Enjoy a relaxing drink on the terrace, admire the moon through the provided telescope, and gaze at the spectacular moonlit night view before your eyes to your heart’s content.
Characteristic 3: Moonlight canoeing to enjoy the moon floating over the lake
Enjoy canoeing on one of Fuji’s five lakes, Lake Kawaguchi, when the moon rises high in the sky. There are few boats on the lake at night, allowing you to gaze at the lake’s surface illuminated by the moonlight amid a quiet and peaceful atmosphere. On the lake, have a glass of digestif selected by HOSHINOYA Fuji’s sommelier. Our glamping masters will be ready to provide support during your leisurely time on Lake Kawaguchi. Spend an elegant moment watching the moon in the night sky and Mt. Fuji illuminated by the moon with a drink in one hand.
