"Let's have a blast, Yosakoi"
OMO7 Kochi by Hoshino Resorts, the first OMO hotel in Shikoku region, located in Kochi City, Kochi Prefecture, will have its grand opening on Thursday, June 13, 2024. As an exciting city-tourism hotel under the OMO brand, it offers a stay where guests can experience the vibrant Yosakoi Festival and Kochi's hospitality culture. Guests can fully enjoy the hidden charms of the city by experiencing the unique hospitality of OMO7 Kochi, inspired by "Okyaku," Kochi's unique banquet culture.
With the concept "Let's have a blast, Yosakoi," the hotel offers a variety of features that will make you fall in love with the city during your stay. The people of Kochi are full of hospitality, often saying "Youkitanee!" ("Welcome!" in the dialect of Kochi), and they love having fun gatherings with everyone. We hope guests will enjoy a trip filled with the charms of Kochi's city and people. Furthermore, "Yosakoi" is written as "夜さ来い" (meaning "Come at night"), expressing both the "Yosakoi Festival," a representative festival of Kochi, and the invitation to "come at night" to enjoy a fun feast.
Go-KINJO(*1): A service to fully enjoy the city
Go-KINJO is a unique type of service proposed by the OMO brand to learn more about the city and feel its charm through new discoveries. We created the “Local Guide Activity” (otherwise known as Go-KINJO activity) with the help of local people, as well as an original Go-KINJO map with information that cannot be found in guidebooks. On top of this, our staff performs a Yosakoi Matsuri Show every night, and we will host small lectures focusing on Kochi’s unique festive culture.
*1:“Kinjo” means neighborhood in Japanese.
Go-KINJO Map
OMO Rangers, our local guides and aficionados of the city, collect information about the neighborhood not necessarily included in guidebooks and share it on the Go-KINJO map. The 3.6m x 3m map, located in the OMO Base, will allow guests to make the most of their city walks with unique information about the nearby tourist spots and OMO Rangers’ recommended shops.
Local Guide Activity: Introducing Kochi's historic Sunday market
Join our OMO Ranger guide, a lover of this city, as we venture out from the hotel to enjoy the Sunday market. Centered around the Kochi dialect term "su ga kiichiyu," meaning both "deliciously sour" and "thoughtful," we'll explore shops offering yuzu vinegar products and those providing thoughtful service, uncovering the charm of Kochi's food and people. Furthermore, we'll offer our guests "thoughtful" guidance, including deep-dive local information and must-see recommendations.
