KAI, an onsen ryokan brand by Hoshino Resorts, will open "KAI Ureshino" in Ureshino Onsen, Saga Prefecture, in Summer 2027. This marks Hoshino Resorts' first entry into Saga Prefecture.
KAI Ureshino features 28 rooms in total, all of which are KAI Signature Rooms named "Satoyama Courtyard Room" equipped with open-air baths overlooking a Japanese courtyard. In every guest room, guests can savor to their heart's content the precious hot springs renowned as one of "Japan's Top Three Hot Springs for Beautiful Skin."
To allow guests to experience with their entire body the greatest feature of Ureshino Onsen—its rich, smooth texture—a spa treatment facility named Bihada Goya is attached at the center of the ryokan. By combining bathing in private in-room open-air baths with specialized spa treatments, the ryokan unlocks the full charm of these historic, famous waters, offering a blissful stay that leaves both skin and mind thoroughly hydrated and revitalized.

About Ureshino Onsen
Located in southwestern Saga Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, Ureshino Onsen is recognized as one of Japan's top three hot springs for beautifying skin and has been a beloved wellness sanctuary for over 1,300 years. Its natural, mineral-rich thermal waters are renowned for leaving your skin feeling extraordinarily soft and hydrated. Beyond the soothing baths, Ureshino is deeply rooted in local culture—famous for its centuries-old tradition of pan-roasted green tea and handcrafted Japanese porcelain (Arita and Hizen Yoshida ware). Here, you can immerse yourself in a tranquil blend of authentic hot spring relaxation, rich tea heritage, and local craftsmanship.

Features of KAI Ureshino

  1. KAI Signature Rooms: "Satoyama Courtyard Room"

All 28 rooms feature a private Japanese courtyard expressing Ureshino's rich nature and satoyama landscapes, creating a space where guests can feel the serene atmosphere of Japan's rural countryside. Furthermore, as all rooms feature open-air baths, guests can savor the famous hot spring waters, renowned for beautifying the skin, while gazing out at the courtyard. In honor of the local specialty Ureshino tea, the room interiors are appointed with original fittings embedded with genuine tea leaves and artwork inspired by the Ariake Sea. All rooms are maisonette-style, featuring a luxurious design with high ceilings of approximately 5 meters on the first floor, creating an airy, open space where guests can relax as if living there.Interior In-room open-air bath Fittings embedded with tea leaves

  1. Spa Treatment Facility Bihada Goya,  Located at the Center of the Ryokan

The defining feature of Ureshino Onsen is its rich, silky-smooth water. To maximize the efficacy and benefits of this hot spring, a spa treatment facility named Bihada Goya will be established at the center of the ryokan. By combining private bathing in guest rooms with spa treatments, the hot spring water softens dead skin, enhancing the treatments' moisturizing effects. The exterior design of Bihada Goya is inspired by the weaving layers of stratum from Hizen's soil, which nurtured famous porcelain including Hizen Yoshida ware, Imari ware, and Arita ware. While feeling the texture of the rich earth that gave birth to famous ceramics against their skin, guests can surrender themselves to the blessings of the hot springs, enjoying a stay that conditions both mind and body into beautifully hydrated skin.
