Take a trip through Kochi and experience its history and vitality
OMO7 Kochi is located in the heart of Kochi City and is a three-minute walk from the tram station Saembacho. Ride the tram to get around town and take in the sights of the city! Kochi has produced countless notable figures, including Ryoma Sakamoto, and is home to many spots to experience its history. Kochi Castle, the only castle in Japan whose inner citadel has been preserved from the Edo period, offers a taste of what it used to feel like in the past. The Kochi Sunday Market is an open-air market that has continued to be run since the Edo period along Otesuji, the street that runs from Kochi Castle. This market is one of the largest of its kind in Japan, with around 300 stores selling seasonal ingredients, handmade dishes, and daily necessities. Shopping while chatting with the locals is one of the best parts of walking around town. In addition, Hirome Market, which features around 50 eateries, is packed with locals and tourists both day and night and offers a wide variety of local delicacies, including bonito tataki (seared skipjack tuna slices), Kochi’s famous local specialty! Also, don’t miss the Yosakoi Festival that is held every August, when the entire city comes alive. We hope to bring a memorable stay that allows guests to fully enjoy Kochi’s history and vitality.
Views that stretch all the way to Tosa Bay and a restaurant on the hotel’s top floor to recharge!
Our restaurant is located on the hotel’s top floor (22F), from which guests can see Kagami River and even as far as Tosa Bay, to which the river extends, on a clear day. Breakfast is served buffet-style with a variety of dishes. We recommend trying the bonito tataki and the omelet that is prepared right before your eyes. Enjoy a delicious breakfast to recharge before heading out so that you have enough energy to explore the city!
Various room types that cater to different purposes of travel
OMO7 Kochi offers various room types, including single rooms that are perfect for solo travelers and business travelers, as well as triple rooms that are great for group travel. Guests can select the room type that best suits the purpose of their trip.
Post-renovation reopening in the spring of 2024
In order to provide guests with a stay that allows them to fully appreciate the beauty of Kochi, the hotel will be closed for renovation from September 2023 and is scheduled to reopen in the spring of 2024. As part of our renovation, the hotel’s public spaces, guest rooms, and restaurant will be redesigned by drawing inspiration from the Yosakoi Festival and other aspects of Kochi’s vibrant culture, as well as Kochi’s lush natural surroundings. Following its reopening, the hotel will be offering Go-KINJO, a service often provided at facilities under the OMO brand that helps guests to learn more about the neighborhood within walking distance of their hotel and feel at home in the city by allowing guests to make new discoveries and encounters. Go-KINJO is composed of two kinds of content: a map of the surroundings with information about the neighborhood that cannot be found in travel guides, as well as activities in the area that include guided tours and talks held in the hotel featuring attractions around the hotel.
