KAI Kawaji Closing Event
Kai Kawaji, located in Kawaji Onsen in Tochigi Prefecture, will close on September 27, 2024. From September 1, 2024 to September 26, we will hold a closing event, “Satoyama Musubi no Utage, ” to express our gratitude for our hospitality.
Moon viewing night party
When a large washi moon rises, it signals the start of the moon viewing night party. In addition to local sake and sweets, events such as rice cake making and raffle tickets are held, and customers and staff can enjoy a moment of autumn together.
Mochi Pounding
Since jugoya coincides with the harvest season, it has been passed down as a festival to express gratitude for the harvest.
At KAI Kawaji, mochi pounding is held in connection with the culture. The party is enhanced with chants.
Local sweets and snacks
Local sweets and snacks are prepared to add color to the special day. You can also grind the kinako with a stone mill and pour it over the dumplings.
A live performance of traditional Japanese musical instruments
A live performance of traditional Japanese musical instruments will brighten up the party. Enjoy the autumn nights while listening to the soft and dignified tones of koto and shionbue.
Gratitude with local sake
When you arrive, you will receive KAI Kawaji's original masu. During your stay, you can enjoy local sake poured into the masu. The masu expresses the wish to increase happiness, and the staff conveys their gratitude.
