KAI Cultural Discovery

The City of Matsumoto has a long history as a city of music–even today, it hosts a summer festival organized by renowned maestro Seiji Ozawa. KAI Matsumoto pays homage to the city by organizing nightly concerts in the ryokan’s lobby, a cavernous space with excellent acoustics.

Enjoy tasting carefully selected wines with a video guide of local wineries made by our staff. This is an opportunity to experience the dedication of winemakers.
Room with ultra-relaxing private sauna

Enjoy a one-of-a-kind guest room with a private sauna. You can also enjoy the large bath privately. It includes a sauna. With an original sauna drink made with Shinshu flavors, enjoy the outdoor air as well. We also have sauna mats with the KAI logo available only here. *Large bath private use times: 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on the check-in day, and 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the next day.
KAI Massage

We offer highly therapeutic massages by nationally certified staff. After bathing, blood circulation is improved and the body can relax more easily. A massage before dinner also helps with digestion.
