A special guided tour held only during the spring evening illumination period of the World Heritage Site To-ji Temple.
The tour will take you around To-ji Temple, focusing on the three main halls of the temple: Kodo (Lecture Hall), where three-dimensional Mandala continues to convey the thoughts of Kobo Daishi Kukai, the founder of To-ji Temple; Kondo, the main hall; Five-storied Pagoda, the tallest wooden structure in Japan.
The tour will include explanations about the history and Buddhist statues, as well as recommended viewing spots of the illuminated autumn leaves and architecture. The famous 21 Buddha statues are usually seen in sunlight, however, you will be able to enjoy a precious view at night as they appear in the darkness, making this tour one of the kind.
To avoid the crowds to enter To-ji Temple smoothly, Hotel guests participating in this tour may pay the admission fee at hotel’s front desk in advance.
