Toji Mandala Night Salon

Toji Mandala Night Salon
Experience blending Sencha and herbal teas under the enchanting light, feeling the world of mandalas as Kukai envisioned it. Create your own unique good luck charm by imprinting a Sanskrit character on an original ema (votive tablet) corresponding to your zodiac sign.
After sunset, the "Mandala Lamp Art," featuring geometric patterns of light that express the spirit of Kobo Daishi (Kukai), spreads across the walls and floor, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Enveloped in the world of the Mandala, please spend a moment to heal the weariness of your journey and prepare your mind (or "find inner peace").
After sunset, we offer a soothing herbal tea in the space illuminated by the Mandala Lamp Art. You can enjoy blending 12 varieties of herbs, such as lotus and chamomile, selected by the Kyoto specialty shop "Pukusuke" and associated with Buddhism and temples, with a Sencha (green tea) base to your liking.
In the "Bonji Ema Making" experience, you can create an original votive tablet using stamps of a Guardian Deity and its corresponding Bonji (Sanskrit character) associated with your Zodiac sign, and take it home as a talisman/charm.
* Guardian Deities: These are Buddhist figures corresponding to each Zodiac sign, believed to protect a person throughout their life. Worshipping them is said to bring benefits such as warding off misfortune and bringing good luck. * Bonji (Sanskrit Characters): These are characters representing the ancient Indian language, Sanskrit. In esoteric Buddhism (Mikkyo) in particular, they are used in amulets and scriptures as symbols of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.
