A night to experience Japanese culture through Buddhism.

The "Toji Mandala Night Salon" enveloped in fantastic light. A moment to enjoy the blending experience of Sencha (green tea) and herbal tea, and the creation of Bonji Ema (votive tablets with Sanskrit characters), all within the quiet, mysterious space created by the mandala-patterned lamps.

Features of the "Toji Mandala Night"

1. Mandala Lamp Art

After sunset, the "Mandala Lamp Art," featuring geometric patterns of light that express the spirit of Kobo Daishi (Kukai), spreads across the walls and floor, creating a fantastic atmosphere. Enveloped in the world of the Mandala, please spend a moment to heal the weariness of your journey and prepare your mind (or "find inner peace").

2. Free Blending Tea Experience

After sunset, we offer a soothing herbal tea in the space illuminated by the Mandala Lamp Art. You can enjoy blending 12 varieties of herbs, such as lotus and chamomile, selected by the Kyoto specialty shop "Pukusuke" and associated with Buddhism and temples, with a Sencha (green tea) base to your liking.

3. Bonji Ema Making

In the "Bonji Ema Making" experience, you can create an original votive tablet using stamps of a Guardian Deity and its corresponding Bonji (Sanskrit character) associated with your Zodiac sign, and take it home as a talisman/charm.
