Enjoy a bonfire in the heart of the city as if you were surrounded by forest, seated on Asahikawa-made furniture at the “Asahikawa Bonfire Bar.” It’s the perfect way to savor the long autumn nights unique to Asahikawa.

Chairs around the fire and the wine glasses at the bar are crafted by Asahikawa Furniture, one of Japan’s top five furniture brands. Choose your favorite from a variety of chairs made by different manufacturers, and enjoy the ultimate seating comfort, crafted with care by local artisans. The firewood is made from repurposed wood scraps and thinned lumber left over from the furniture-making process. The variety of wood used allows you to enjoy different aromas depending on the combination.

The drink menu includes a new original item: Ezorish Whisky. This unique creation blends Sapporo-made whisky with coffee smoked using discarded wood, resulting in a woody aroma that harmonizes with the scent of the bonfire. Other options include Furano wine, Nikka "Yomichi" whisky, chocolates from Asahikawa-based RAMS CHOCOLATE, and assorted cheeses.

Now in its fourth year, the Asahikawa Bonfire Bar is created in collaboration with Waft Inc., a local company. Staff from OMO7 Asahikawa took part in visiting forests, witnessing tree harvesting, and joining in the design and construction of the venue. Items like wooden tables and decorative pieces use timber in ways that highlight the individuality of each tree, including its growth rings. By engaging with the forestry industry (primary), manufacturing (secondary), and hospitality (tertiary), OMO7 Asahikawa aims to convey a message of reconnecting people and forests.
