HOSHINOYA Fuji, Japan’s first glamping resort, will offer the "Summer Night Flambé Shaved Ice" from July 1 to August 31, 2025. This unique dessert features shaved ice infused with whisky aroma and enveloped in flames, finished by flambéing with whisky heated over a bonfire. Guests can enjoy this blissful experience with Hakushu Whisky in the serene night forest.

Inspired by the ice caves in the Mount Fuji foothills, which maintain low temperatures year-round and historically supplied ice to the Shogun family, the "Summer Night Flambé Shaved Ice" was developed to connect guests with the region's natural beauty. It uses pure, mellow ice from "Kuramoto Fuji," made with Mount Fuji's natural water.

1Flaming Shaved Ice Finished by a Bonfire

Inspired by s’mores, the “Summer Night Flambé Shaved Ice” offers a creative twist. It features a marshmallow-like meringue, rosemary crumble, and chocolate ice cream, all perfected over a bonfire. Inside, fresh peaches and blueberries abound. The grand finale: Hakushu Whisky, warmed over the bonfire, dramatically flames the shaved ice. Mount Fuji’s traditional natural ice complements the s’mores’ sweetness and fruit’s acidity, while the whisky’s aroma creates an elegant summer delight.

2Pair with Hakushu Whisky for an Enhanced Experience

The “Summer Night Flambé Shaved Ice” is designed to be paired with Hakushu Whisky. The whisky is served on the rocks, using the same high-purity ice. As the ice melts, guests can appreciate the subtle changes in the whisky’s mellow taste and complex aroma. Furthermore, when paired with the shaved ice, the savory aroma of the flambéed meringue combines with the delicate sweetness unique to Hakushu Whisky, creating a truly profound and satisfying taste experience.

Situated at an altitude of 800m to 900m, HOSHINOYA Fuji offers pleasantly cool summer nights. The Cloud Terrace, in particular, is an ideal spot to escape the summer heat, listen to the chirping of insects, gaze at the flickering bonfire, and fully immerse oneself in the soothing embrace of nature. Guests can savor the “Summer Night Flambé Shaved Ice” at their favorite spot on the Cloud Terrace, enjoying a truly luxurious and memorable time.

The "Summer Night Flambé Shaved Ice" utilizes ice made by slowly freezing Mount Fuji's natural underground water through the power of nature. This ice, managed within a meticulously hygienic facility that maximizes natural processes, is the first natural ice in Japan to obtain Food Sanitation Law certification. By slowly freezing the water in the excellent natural environment of the Mount Fuji foothills, the ice achieves exceptional purity and a remarkably mellow flavor.
