"Yukids" — a name inspired by the Japanese word for snow, Yuki, and Kids — is Hoshino Resorts' original ski lesson program. It is designed not only to let children experience unique winter activities but also to help them master skiing through a proven, effective method. These lessons are offered at three locations: RISONARE Yatsugatake, RISONARE Tomamu, and Nekoma Mountain. At both RISONARE Yatsugatake and Tomamu, dedicated "Yukids" areas provide a safe and controlled environment, making them the perfect places for a child's very first time on skis.

This activity takes place in the vast 100-hectare "Farm Area," where children can learn about the unique personalities and habits of cows, as well as how milk flavors vary between individual animals. Guests can experience a tasting of "Tomamu Milk"—available only here—to discover the distinct flavor profiles of each cow and join a guide, who cares for the herd with great affection, in herding the cows. Surrounded by grand nature and the refreshing morning breeze, this is a chance to deepen your understanding of cows and the dairy process.

At our "Agriturismo Resort," guests learn directly from nature through authentic farming experiences. Our "Rice School" offers a complete journey through the lifecycle of rice—from sowing seeds, planting, and weeding to harvesting and finally cooking the rice in a traditional hagama (iron pot). In our "Farmer's Lessons," you can engage in daily farm work such as sowing vegetable and herb seeds, tilling the soil, and harvesting, allowing you to feel the cycle of food firsthand. These experiences provide a precious opportunity for "food education," teaching children the importance of what we eat and the wonders of how crops grow.

The Yatsugatake area is well-known as a "Horse Town," home to numerous equestrian clubs. Leveraging this unique environment, our "Horse School" is a program designed to deepen learning by first teaching children about horse behavior and equipment before they begin any physical interaction. In the arena, children apply their new knowledge by feeding and brushing the horses, eventually challenging themselves to ride. Because of this prior learning, the encounter becomes more than just an activity—it becomes a meaningful step in understanding living beings and nurturing a compassionate heart.

Set in the waters home to Japan’s largest coral reef, this program encourages children to think proactively about protecting our beautiful oceans through learning about marine ecosystems and the life cycles of sea creatures. After deepening their knowledge, children will touch real coral and shells and observe vibrant coral reefs and their inhabitants. By reflecting on what they can do to preserve this environment, the experience nurtures their intellectual curiosity and fosters a lasting respect for nature.

At RISONARE Guam, we host a "seaside party" where guests can immerse themselves in Guam’s unique heritage and Chamorro cuisine.
