Tanabata Festival experience
You can spend the elegant time thinking about the culture and history of Tanabata, which has continued since the Heian period.
Reflecting on the culture and history of Tanabata, which has continued since the Heian period, modern Tanabata events commonly use bamboo. However, during the Heian period, nobles wrote their wishes on Kaji leaves during Tanabata.
After writing wishes on Kaji leaves, you can enjoy Chef’s special somen noodles. Served in a bamboo bowl, the somen is accompanied by crispy sweetfish, resembling fish swimming in the river.
Noryo-doko is a special place only in summer with the sunshine coming through the leaves and the sound of waterful. You can enjoy the coolness of nature, like the nobles once came to Deep Arashiyama to be away from heat at the Heian period.
