A moment spent with the island singer

An evening at Kihouin, sharing yuntaku, sanshin music, and awamori while experiencing the island’s culture and history.
The Kihouin Collection Hall is a museum on Taketomi Island showcasing traditional daily tools. It displays artifacts that reveal the island’s history and culture, reflecting the valued spirit of mutual support called “Utsugumi.”
We have prepared awamori and snacks essential for yuntaku (chatting) . The snacks include ingredients cherished on the island. Please enjoy your time with the people of Taketomi Island as if you were one of the locals.
Spend time with Mr. Uesedo, a key figure in the island’s “Tanadui Festival.” With a sanshin and a warm smile, he shares the spirit and stories of Taketomi Island’s people.
