Shinshu Tsukemono Stay
In KAI Alps, located at the foot of the Northern Alps, the "Shinshu Tsukemono Stay" plan appears. Starting with the welcome pickle behavior, the Tsukemono cram school run by the local Tsukemono shop, and the Tsukemono making experience, you can enjoy eating, learning, and making Tsukemono. This is an experience where you can immerse yourself in Shinshu's Tsukemono culture.
■Tsukemono cram school run by an aunchan instructor at a local Tsukemono shop With an aunchan instructor who was born and raised in Shinshu, students learn about the history of pickles and the culture of pickles in Shinshu using original texts.
■Making Your Own Original Pickles
After learning about pickles, you will try making them using KAI Alps's original recipes using seasonal ingredients under the guidance of an auntie instructor. The pickles are marinated overnight and can be eaten with breakfast the next morning.
■Hospitality with Welcome Pickles
In Shinshu, when entertaining guests, it is standard to serve tsukemono prepared at home as ochauke. Following this custom, tsukemono of various flavors and ingredients are prepared along with tea.
