The Gangi corridor at KAI Alps perfectly capture the nostalgic atmosphere of a snow-country post town. This winter, warm lanterns will once again illuminate the gangi, turning them into a magical corridor of snow and light. In addition to the walkways, the inner courtyard will feature 50 connecting "Kamakura snow lanterns," creating a luxurious Japanese winter landscape. Historically, the gangi served as a gathering place where children played in the snow and locals formed warm connections. Set along this historic walkway, we invite you to take part in a uniquely winter experience. Craft your own miniature snow hut and light a candle inside—these "Kamakura snow lanterns" enhance the spellbinding scene of snow and light. Relax and enjoy a heartwarming night in snow country.

Beyond the snow-lit gangi corridor lies a warm, comforting irori (sunken hearth) space. Here, you can experience local food culture cooked over charcoal coals, including traditional roasted rice cakes—a cherished staple during Nagano’s cold winters. Guests can wear "Nagiso Neko," a traditional craft vest from the local Nagiso region designed to keep artisan backs warm while keeping hands free.
