This is a hot spring resort located in the Senomoto Plateau, at the foot of the Kuju mountain range, with a view of the Aso five mountains and the prairies spread over the outer ring mountains.
At KAI Aso, the simple thermal spring with a light texture is drawn up to all guest rooms. Enjoy a quiet, relaxing bath in a private space undisturbed.

With a local drink in hand, join the “Caldera BAR” to learn about the blessings of volcanoes and how calderas are formed.
Off to early dinner. Our dining area offers an extraordinary opportunity to enjoy the beautiful sunset while appreciating a luxurious atmosphere. After dinner, prepare for bathing in your room.
We offer an instruction guide book prepared by “Yumori of KAI” -Hot Spring Concierge-, explaining the spring quality and effective ways to bathe.
In the open-air bath projecting to the forest, experience a calming bath while feeling the sunlight filtering through the trees and the breeze blowing through.
Cool off your body on a spacious terrace in the guest room while enjoying the view of the surrounding nature.
The breathing exercises in the “KAI Hot Spring Healing” Guidebook lets you calm down.
Ginger tea with black vinegar and brown sugar relieves your fatigue and regulates your body temperature. It gradually prepares your body and mind for a relaxing and peaceful sleep.
Day 2
This is an exercise to take in the blessings of Aso’s nature into your body by taking a deep breath of fresh air on a terrace overlooking the five peaks of Mount Aso.
At KAI, we offer a “Local Breakfast” using ingredients and cooking methods that reflect the local culture. At KAI Aso serves a local specialty dish of Kyushu.
Try walking with large strides while consciously “inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.” A course map is available with routes that you can walk lightly for about an hour.
Try our breathing techniques to enhance the effects of the hot spring or enjoy the local beverages after bathing.
Horseback riding on the endless grasslands is one of the most popular activities in Aso. Fully appreciate an exceptional view of the meadow from a high vantage point on a horseback.
Enjoy tea time with a teacup made of volcanic ash and relax on the sofa with a warmly colored cushion dyed with plants and trees.
To finish your activities of the day, enjoy a luxurious bath to heal your body.
