Hakone Yosegi Zaiku is a traditional woodworking craft made in the Hakone area of Kanagawa Prefecture. This technique involves carefully combining different types of wood to create unique and beautiful patterns. Each type of wood has its own color and pattern, and by combining them, intricate and stunning designs are produced.
At Kai Hakone, we offer an activity where you can experience part of the artisan's craft firsthand.
