A traditional Japanese restoration technique in which damaged parts of ceramics are glued together with lacquer and decorated with gold or other metal powder.
About the Workshop
At Golden Repair Workshop, located inside hot spring Ryokan, the vessels are restored using a full-scale method that uses natural lacquer without synthetic resin.
Authentic Kintsugi
Authentic Kintsugi (gold lacquer repair) is a painstaking process that takes at least a month to repair a single piece of tableware. At Hoshino Resorts KAI Kaga, we treat our tableware like precious treasures and engage in daily restoration activities.
