Day 1
Yamashiro Onsen is a historical hot spring discovered by the high priest Gyoki on his way to the sacred mountain of Hakusan. The thick spring water is weakly alkaline.
It is only a 10-minute taxi ride from the station.
At KAI, we offer “KAI Hot Spring Healing,” an authentic hot spring cure experience based on the efficacy and quality of the water at the hot springs.
Take a time to relax with with a drink in your room.
On several occasions, our “Yumori of KAI” -Hot Spring Concierge- at KAI will explain the history of the hot spring as well as its spring qualities and effective ways to bathe.
Wrap your bathing kit in a Furoshiki, a traditional wrapping cloth, and off to the hot springs. Enjoy a relaxing bath while appreciating the art panels of Kutani pottery.
A unique lounge displaying Kaga lanterns. While admiring the traditional crafts, your body, warmed by the hot spring, begins to cool off.
Dishes are served one after another perfectly paired with stunning Yamanaka lacquerware or Kutani ware.
Watch the splendid performance of the Kaga lion dance. Immerse yourself into the culture of Kanazawa while wondering about the days when Toshiie Maeda (1538-1599), the first lord of the Kaga domain, had lived.

Ginger tea with black vinegar and brown sugar relieves your fatigue and regulates your body temperature. It gradually prepares your body and mind for a relaxing and peaceful sleep.
A soft, cloud-like mattress provides you the most comfortable sleep while supporting your body at its core. Smooth sheets and pillowcases invite you to heavenly sleep.
Day 2
This is an exercise to slowly awaken your body in a seated position, looking out at the garden from the tea room.
At KAI, we offer a “Local Breakfast” using ingredients and cooking methods that reflect the local culture. At KAI Kaga serves a local specialty dish of Ishikawa prefecture.
Try walking with large strides while consciously “inhaling through the nose and exhaling through the mouth.” A course map is available with routes that you can walk lightly for about an hour.
Try our breathing techniques to enhance the effects of the hot spring or enjoy the local beverages after bathing.
Panels on the display introduce the mechanism of hot springs, the history of hot spring cures, and the descriptions of the spring qualities. It is also a great way to review hot spring etiquette and manners.
With our inn as a base, explore nearby areas such as Kanazawa and Yamanaka Onsen.
In Ishikawa Prefecture, the cultural policies of the Maeda family of the Kaga domain are still alive. The culture of tea ceremony, which dates back to the days of Sen no Rikyu (1522-1591), has also been thriving. Take a moment to relax at the teahouse “Shiian.”
Relaxing your body in the evening helps with digestion for dinner.
Savor early dinner with special Kaiseki cuisine featuring crabs and Nodoguro fish.
At night, a hazy moon floats over the surface of the open-air hot spring.
