Tenson korin is the story of how the god Ninigi-no-Mikoto descended from the heavens onto the Kirishima Mountains to bring order to the world. It is Japan’s foundation myth, and this dynamic dance performance will bring it to life.

Dareyame Set

In the dialect of southern Kyushu, “dareyame” means “evening drink to relieve fatigue”. At KAI Kirishima, we offer an evening liquor set consisting of a refreshing sweet potato shochu liquor and monaka with rum-flavored ice cream.
Making a geological terrarium

KAI Kirishima is in Kagoshima where about 50 percent of the land is made of pumiceous sediments produced by volcanic eruptions. Having excellent drainage, pumiceous sediments have long been used to grow Kagoshima Prefecture's local products such as sweet potatoes. As a nod to our natural environment, we offer a lesson to make a geological terrarium with colorful pumiceous sediments and living moss.
