Seasonal seafood, as well as flavorsome vegetables and meat that hail from the region’s unique white soil highlands, are featured prominently in the kaiseki dinners.

This is the standard kaiseki course meal. The sashimi is seasoned with a wide variety of condiments. Enjoy to your heart’s content this meal made of individual dishes, each one carefully paying homage to the cultural roots of its place of origin.

Special Dinner

Inspired by Kirishima, a place where myths still live, we serve steamed wagyu beef, Berkshire pork, and seasonal vegetables in a two-tiered seiro (steamer), representing heaven and earth. The steam rising from the steamer is very impressive. Enjoy it with sesame sauce and black vinegar ponzu.

Kagoshima Prefecture, which uses its warm climate and vast fields, has a thriving livestock industry. Primarily Kurobuta is widely known as a specialty of Kagoshima prefecture. It contains many amino acids, has an umami taste, is soft, and has refreshing fat. In KAI Kirishima, shabu-shabu with bonito flakes is served in seasonal KAI Local Flavors, while in the Special Kaiseki course, it is done in a bamboo steamer with black vinegar and Japanese beef.



KAI serves breakfast made with ingredients that let you taste the flavor of the region and the local cooking techniques. At KAI Kirishima, we prepare a Japanese platter centered around “Satsuma-jiru”, a local Kagoshima Prefecture dish.

We offer special Japanese platters for children between 4 and 6 years of age. These carefully selected menus include traditional Japanese ingredients like beans, sesame, and seaweed that the little ones are sure to love.

Kagoshima Prefecture boasts the largest number of shochu breweries in Japan. From a wide variety of brands, shochu pairings tailored to Kaiseki cuisine are available.
