Gion Uruwashi Asamairi — Visiting Temples in Beautiful Early Morning Gion

Themed on "beauty," this tour takes you to the beautiful early morning streets, shrines, and temples of Gion with your neighborhood guide—your OMO Ranger. Taking a stroll through Gion in the early morning, when the town is quiet, you get to catch a glimpse of the otherwise unseen lifestyle of Gion.

In this tour, OMO Rangers will introduce Gion's national treasures and tangible cultural properties registered with the City of Kyoto, while explaining the history and background of the emblems scattered throughout the city. By learning more about the history of Gion, visitors can feel the charm of the city even more deeply. At the end of the tour, visitors can enjoy a hiyashi ame (cold ginger syrup drink) or ameyu (hot ginger syrup drink) at “Suruya Gion Shimosato,” a registered tangible cultural property in Kyoto City, to relieve fatigue of the trip.
