Itinerary
Day 1
Otaru Station is 75 minutes from New Chitose Airport by train. Getting to Otaru Station by train is highly convenient, with no transfers required. Otaru Station is around 40 minutes from Sapporo. The hotel is within walking distance from the station.
OMO5 Otaru is located in the center of the Otaru sightseeing area, around a 2-minute walk to Otaru Canal. After leaving your luggage with our staff, check out where you want to go on the Go-KINJO MAP and start exploring Otaru.
There are many chic restaurants and cafes around the canal. Let's head to a restaurant recommended by the hotel.
After getting your card key from the front desk, it's time to head to your room.
The South Building is a renovated historic building. There are many facilities and items that give you a sense of Otaru's history. Let's enjoy a retro Otaru feel while walking around the building.

OMO5 Otaru guests' cruising plan is held with a different theme every season. In spring, you can experience an afternoon tea cruise limited to OMO5 Otaru guests, where you can see the retro streets of Otaru from the boat in the pleasant spring weather.
After cruising, take a leisurely stroll taking photos along the Otaru Canal. At dusk when the gas lights are lit, you can enjoy the changing scenery.
Let's go to Otaru Sushi Ya-dori where there are many sushi restaurants. The nearby Otaru Yatai Village is also full of fun restaurants.
When you get back to the hotel, go to OMO Cafe & Bar on the 3rd floor of the south wing. You can spend a relaxing night time surrounded by oil lamp lights and retro music with a welcome drink.
Day 2
Recommended dishes at OMO Cafe & Bar include hot churros and Spanish omelet that is topped with many ingredients right before your eyes.
After breakfast, take an osanpo tour along Sakaimachi-dori shopping street, the main street of Otaru sightseeing. This morning tour is packed with only the highlights carefully selected by the neighborhood guide OMO Ranger.
The spectacular view here known as 'Shakotan Blue" is one of Hokkaido's most breathtaking sights. You can enjoy delicious sea urchin here in the summer. This spot is around a 60-minute drive from Niki.
Niki, a neighboring town of Yoichi, is known for its fruit orchards. Drop by the winery here that is surrounded by lush nature. Depending on the season, we also recommend having lunch here.
Yoichi Distillery, the Mecca of Nikka Whisky, is around a 30-minute drive from the hotel. Free guided tours are available for all visitors.
This library showcases many different music boxes, an essential part of traveling in Otaru. We recommend renting your favorite music box and listening to it before going to bed.

Day 3
If you participate in a tour with OMO Rangers, our local guides, you will get to enjoy a freshly prepared seafood rice bowl topped with the best seafood of the day. The lively atmosphere of the market will give you an adrenaline rush.
Take a rest in your room when you return from the tour. After checking out, leave your luggage and go walking around Otaru.
