OMO Rangers will pop up around OMO Base, the hotel's public space, to answer guests' questions on anything related to Universal Studios Japan, such as strategies for efficient visits to different areas of the park, where to eat, and what souvenirs to buy. Environment-friendly hospitality
Covering the building exterior with a thermal insulation layer to reduce solar heat load
The building is designed with a white coating that covers the exterior, which helps reduce the solar heat load. Of the external light such as sunlight, 12.7% penetrates and diffuses, while 78.5% is reflected and diffused. Reducing the amount of solar heat allows us to turn on the cooling from 3:00PM check-in time and no earlier, helping thus to reduce energy consumption.
Cooling effects from the Garden Area
While the Garden Area "Miya-green" is located inside the city, it is a wide green space composed of a 1,700m² lawn, roughly 200 tall trees, and a terrace deck with a pergola. The greening of the ground surface helps to keep the temperature from rising. It is designed to be a fresh spot during hot weather, with the trees and pergola providing shade from the sun.
Detergentless washing machines
Our laundry washing machines are not only eco-friendly, they are also gentle to the skin. They wash clothes without detergents, using only alkaline ion electrolyzed water. Alkaline ion electrolyzed water breaks down oils into glycerin and fatty acids, turning them into soap, and removes dirt with surfactant effects.
