Rice school

From planting to harvest and cooking. Trace rice's life in nature to nurture your senses and soul.
As an Agriturismo resort, our mission is to "preserve Japan’s rice paddies for the future." We believe that sharing the beauty of Japan's original landscapes, the diverse ecosystems within them, and the preciousness of the natural environment is the key to ensuring a sustainable future for these rich rural sceneries. This project was born from a shared vision with local farmers who felt a sense of crisis regarding the future of rice farming. By joining forces, we aim to nurture each grain of life together, passing down not just the harvest, but the wisdom and beauty of nature to the next generation.
At RISONARE Nasu, the essential experience of Japanese rice farming is seamlessly integrated into your stay. Without ever leaving the resort, guests of all ages can immerse themselves in the authentic cycle of the land. This is more than just a simple activity; it is a "primitive experience" that connects you directly to the roots of Japanese culture. From the feel of the cool mud between your toes during planting to the golden hues of the harvest, we provide a hands-on journey through the life of rice. By completing this cycle within the resort, we offer a deep, soulful connection to the earth that enriches your travel story.
